I did a little digging in the media guide and the website PDF format...

we have 91 players on this year's roster...I believe 70 are on scholarship...which I have a question. Why are only 70 on scholarship? I know the limit is 85 but why are we at 70? Any help would be greatly appreiciated.

Out of 91 players, 45 are true or redshirt freshman...HALF of the team are freshman and many are getting significant playing time already.

Add 15 sophomores and you have 60 players out of 91 with at least 2 more years of eligibility. That is 63% of the team are freshman and sophomores.

Add 14 juniors who will be back in 2003...81% of this team returns nnext yr.

13 5th yr seniors
4 4th yr seniors.

Now, what many of us believe, and rightly so, could be the best recruiting class in BG's history about to walk thru the doors, how can we NOT be positive and excited in light of the game on Saturday? Somebody else posted about the maturity of this team...and it is very young. NIU was in this position the last couple years and played a ton of freshman...

Better facilities are coming, there is a big buzz on campus with this program, better marketing to alumni all over the state, the national spotlight shining on BG this year will all propel this program to heights never reached before. Like Coach said, this IS a gold mine!
This program has had its fuse lit and now its gonna blow sky high!
It IS only Year 2 under Coach Meyer...most programs take years to build and we've been very fortunate to have a ton of success very early on...16-4 ain't too shabby.

Colorado State took years to get to the level the Rams are at now...bowl games & Top 25 rankings yearly, more coverage, more tv exposure and a bigger fan following. It is no surprise to me that Coach Meyer would want to build our program like Earle Bruce and Sonny Lubick have done...the right way...for long term success. I reallly enjoy watching the Rams whenever they're on the tube/

Hey, we are sitting pretty fine at this point and its only gonna get better!!

GO FALCONS!!!! BEAT USF!!!!
