I think FoxSports does an outstanding job of covering and promoting MAC football when they are showing MAC football. I know it's regional and they have nothing else but I really believe they take the extra step to research and accurately report what is going on. I also like the tangent stories they provide at half time and during long segments between plays.
The Toledo/NIU and Ohio/MUg were both well produced. THe announcers aren't as sharp as some of the others, but they seem genuinally interested in MAC ball. ESPN announcers sort of have that "When do I get a shot at a big conference game?" attitude. They don't really care about our conference.

I enjoyed the games as well, Muther........when the MAC has been "on the tube", there certainly have been exciting games to watch, eh?

I'm not sure about the production crews or the color guys, but I know that the play-by-play guy for the NIU-UT game was Josh Lewin, who is either Fox's second or third national baseball guy. He's certainly a better choice than our resident Chicago homer Kaplan, who while an NIU cheerleader, is so obviously a homer it is irritating.

The OU/MUc crew seemed to me to be much more competent than the NIU/Toledo crew. There was one play where holding was called, no one saw it. They ran the replay twice. Finally, on the second time through, the guy goes,"Oh, you can see it right there!". Only problem, you can see the flag already on the ground long before what they say is being called occurred. I also heard them misexplain rules at least twice. Really, though, for cheesy, regional broadcasts, they aren't all that bad, I guess. I just wish the cameras would stay on the play, and that the announcers would use the pronunciation guides that I would assume they are provided. Coach AmSTOOTZ and Wah-SAHN Tait would probably appreciate that, as well.
On the other hand, these broadcasts are FAR better than not being on television at all. And I'm very glad that we're getting this kind of exposure.

The coverage was alot better then having to listen to Sonny Randall, he has to be the worst color guy in the country. Go Herd

I've watched the Rockets on Fox Sports for the last two weeks and have really appreciated the broadcasts. It seems like there are a lot fewer commercial breaks than a network broadcast. The announcers aren't overly dramatic and they are informative without sounding like ego inflated know it alls. A feature I like that one of the networks uses and that Fox lacks is the screen imposed yellow first down line across the field.
