After looking at the rest of the 2004-2005 schedule for the men's team, I really don't see how we can screw up and lose any of remaining games. I think that this team is good enough to win out from here on. I know it will be tough (games at Vanderbilt and SBC play), but this team showed Wednesday that without our starting point guard, we can hang in there with a top 10 team. Not bad if you ask me. There are 19 games remaining, and then 3 in the conference tourney. We could be looking at a 22-5 team at the end of the season!

The only games that I know that will be tossups are at Vanderbilt and a home game against Western Kentucky. Every game is a game in which we should be favored to win!

Your thoughts?

I would say that when we had Green, but with him out someone will really have to step it up and take his place as a guard, but also as a leader on the team. I think someone will step up and try to fill that role, but we shall see in time.

Well, so far I'm right. 2 down, more to go. Cajuns get a last second 3 from center Chris Cameron to beat McNeese St. 71-70 in Lake Charles. Cajuns finish the 2004 part of their schedule 5-5. Two non-conference games left against Vanderbilt and Southern Illinois.

I think the Cajuns can beat those 2 teams and have an above .500 conference record to help our RPI ranking for the year. I really believe that if we do well in the conference we'll have a good ranking which would help in the seeding for the big dance. (If we make it there)04-cheers

No matter how good we finish, we have to win the tourney to get in to the NCAAs. And when we do get in, we will probably be a 13 seed at best, which is always prone to pulling off upsets!

I don't know after almost beating NCST that should show them we're a pretty good team and shouldn't be taken lightly. We'll have to see once the conference play is over.

I got the Vandy game wrong. We flat out stunk that place up. It was horrible, but its ok. We beat Southern Illinois, one of the better mid-majors in the country and now we start Sun Belt play where I know we can win our home games. We just have to take care of business on the road. I know these guys can do it.

We can play at home and win some games, the real test is the road schedule if we can play well and survive on the road we'll have a good chance of winning the conference.

Well we are still in good shape in SBC play depsite an rare conference home opener loss; to frickin Denver of all teams too. That's only their 2nd win over us, EVER! But the Cajuns make up for it with wins at South Alabama and at New Orleans. Cajuns go for a clean road sweep this Thursday at New Mexico State. Cajuns haven't won there in 3 years, so this should be a tough task. But with Orien Green back, this team is back to where they were when playing Rice and LA Tech. We can still win out guys!!

GEAUX CAJUNS!!!

Haven't updated in a while, but now is a good time.

Cajuns have really played GREAT basketball the past 3 weeks. The loss to Denver hurt bad, but now we are tied with them in the standings and we still get to play them at their place. Should be a good one, but with the way we are playing now, I can see us winning by more than 15. We hit the road for games at North Texas and Denver next weekend and if we come back 2-0 from that trip, we will win the SBC regular season title. I don't think anyone in the conference can beat us now. This team is too quick and can reallly shoot the ball well.

If we could win out our RPI could be in the lower 30's. I would love to see them put us back in the #14 slot if we have that high of a ranking.

If the NCAA selection committee seeds us as low as 14 (if we win out from this point on [currently 12-7 after the MTSU game]) then it'd be a ripoff. After hangin close with NCST 2 games in a row, and beating Rice & SIU, then a 14 seed would be injustice. I'd like to see us at 11 or 12, maybe even 10 if we win out. The reason obviously being that as a 10-12, we'd be playin 5-7 seeds, which are much easier to hang with than 3 seed. However, if we don't win out, but do win the conference tourney, then I'd actually like to see us at 13 or 14 b/c it means the 3 or 4 that plays us in teh first round will take us lightly, and we can fly under the radar and kick 'em right up their arses on the way to the second round.

God bless.

Wow, I forgot about this. Anyway, the Cajuns finished on a bit of a slide, winning 4 in a row at home, but blowing 2 games against Arkansas State and UALR. Cajuns now head to the SBC tourney needing 3 wins to make the NCAA tourney. Finished 17-10 overall, but with 3 wins in Denton, Cajuns will have another 20 win season and a chance to play in the NCAA tourney. Go get em Cajuns!!!
