Congrats to CFU student Tyler Fisher for being selected as a 2003 Rhodes Scholar. Only MAC school to have one this year.

That is fantastic, UCF obviously must be hugely proud of this kid.
A quick note of explanation about the Rhodes scholar program, 4 are selected from 8 regions. Learn more at...Rhodes Scholar Program
Quick question, what other schools in our esteemed league have produced Rhodes Scholars? I just looked it up, none in the last 5 years. What about prior to that? Miami grads?

Last year, Miami's Anne Kafoure became the university's first Rhodes Scholar.

Based on historical experience, it's very difficult for state-school kids to win a Rhodes. About half of the class each year comes from Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Duke. UCF has every reason in the world to crow loudly this morning.

I know most won't get it.............But I actually feel this is more important than any bowl or football game. Like you said, a state school kid getting a Rhodes Scholarship and from UCF and not UF or FSU????
And the preasure is on this kid now....he performs and they'll look at us again...visa versa??
He is a great kid and the best to him!!!
Goooo Knights!!!

Wow, Ms. Kafoure had a 4.0 and a triple major! I wonder how many Rhodes scholars have come from Ohio schools. Actually, the article said Miami had another one in 1948.

Thanks for the good catch! During my college days, I was told that we'd never had a Rhodes. I guess I was told wrong.
But let's get the focus back on the kid from UCF. That's awesome.

I was a "Roads Scholar" at CMU. I kept waking up on Sunday mornings in the middle of the road, next to an orange cone.

"Next to an orange cone"?
How did you manage to get all the way from Mount Pleasant to Bowling Green when you were blind drunk?

If dried puke is brown, then, yes, I guess so.
