Don't know if it would work, but you may be able to file a discovery only action to get subpoena power.

Otherwise you could file suit and get service by publication, and use that suit to get subpoena power either before or after judgment is rendered. You'd probably be best to file in Alabama state court.

In the end all of this seems to be senseless unless there is some consumer protection statute that would allow for punitive damages or attorney's fees.

Just some ideas. Give 'em hell.
