Should be a great game...CMU had a very tough loss to Kent the other night. I listened to the game on the radio and the Chips led most of the way. CMU is one of the top teams in the MAC and this Kaman is something else. He and Kevin Netter, 6' 10", should have an interesting matchup. If Netter gets in foul trouble, BG is in BIG trouble.

Tough assignment for the Falcons tomorrow. We've had some kids with the flu bug (Netter and Cory Eyink were puking in buckets at Athens Tues night)...and with 7 schollie players and 3 walk ons that makes it even more interesting 03-wink

But, we have made it to 10-7, 6-3 MAC so thru it all it has been an exciting year so far.
Ill be listening over the net....GO BG!

BG now down by 24...54-30 with 15 min left.

Why is it that BG falls behind by such big margins and have to come back? CMU playing well today. 03-banghead

Kevin Netter fouls out but Kaman only has one charged foul with 5 min left?
The difference today is CMU couldn't miss....scorching the nets.
We'll pay you back on the gridiron since we don't get you at home in bb.

Congrats Chippewas.... 03-banghead

Well, Kaman's had his share of foul trouble, at times (four against Kent, two in the 1st half had him out for awhile), so it's all part-and-parcel.

Get us back? 03-confused I think perchance you misunderstood. This was our payback for your football team beating us in our house!

Thanks for the congrats! I'll be pulling for you to beat Kent (again) on Thursday!

Post-game analysis:

With our bench contributing just eleven points (five by freshman Brandon Voorhees in just five minutes of play), Tony Bowne really stepped-up his play, scoring a career-high 18 points. More and more, we see why this guy has taken a spot in the starting rotation. Tough, hard-nosed, and willing to do whatever is necessary for the team. In one game, it was contributing 10 assists; yesterday, it was knocking down 4/5 3-pt shots among 7/9 total. I've seen him sacrifice his body to draw a charge from bigger players (he's 6'3", 210lb) more than once. Tony's now averaging 4.8 ppg, 3.2 rpg, & 3.0 apg and is providing the kind of unselfish, hard-nosed play we need. 04-cheers

CMU once again enjoyed big contributions from leaders Chris Kaman and Mike Manciel, who contributed 21points/14 rebounds/6 blocks and 20 points/7 rebounds, respectively. Although CMU had 17 turnovers, that's a couple less than average, and the Chippewas forced 16.

Yep, and 13 played, although a couple got in for less than a minute each. Actually, I was suprised Kaman played 36 minutes. With the way things were going, I'd have thought he'd sit out the last five or so. Depth behind him is a concern, though.

Re: Perry Stadium. I may just have to make it down there one of these days. Maybe instead of one of our two home games against I-AA.

Wow...I was surprised also that Kaman was in there so long. Good for you guys he didn't get injured.

As far as 1-AA games, guess what? BG has TWO home games agaist 1-AA this yr! 03-banghead Problem started when La Monroe (who is practically 1-AA anyway) bought out their game with us this fall so they could play at LSU. We already had one 1-AA home game against Liberty but needed another home game. We originally knew UTAH had an open date but that wishful thinking didn't happen. So the date was filled with Bill Clinton's alma mater Morehead State. Good thing our 2 other OOC games are At Purdue and at Ohio State. Big paydays and who knows? I know BG can beat Purdue but OSU will be difficult. But ya never know...All I do is remember back to 1991 and 1992 when CMU went into E Lansing and beat Mich St twice! 04-bow 04-bow 04-bow 04-bow 04-bow
that was great!!!!!!
