It appears that they decided to play YSU after all. Thoughts anyone...

Early guess on season's outcome:

Best case: betweeen 4-7 and 5-8
Worst case: betweeb 0-12 and 2-10

Too early for me to guess on outcomes, but would agree with you that we are back to 0-2 in terms of winning seasons. Last time, it was 15 years between winning seasons.

Biggest surprise is Laing Kennedy's statement about "traveling" to see the road games! If we could only get fans to "travel" down Summit Street we wouldn't have our DI atttendance problem. What's he smoking?

I see a best case: 6-6.
Worst case: 2-10.
Likely right in the middle: 4-8.

Tough schedule! 04-cheers

Okay, I am an optomist, but 6 wins with this schedule. Time to go on the record, which 6. I don't see six winnable games on the schedule. Fess up, which six. :)

I still remember 2001 when we knocked off Miami and NIU, Ohio on the road and Ball St. Last year's team was hurt badly by injury and mentally collapsed. I (always) thin k we'll be improved! 04-cheers
So here goes:
wins--Akron, YSU, Ohio, Buffalo
then either, UConn or Ball St. for 5
and the shocker upset of either Miami or BG for 6.
Of course, we could easily be looking at 2-10, 3-9.

Hey, hope springs eternal, boys!

Axeme,

Fair assessment. I think the season will hinge on how the first four games go. If they go 2-2 (UA, YSU wins) and have few injuries at Pitt and PSU, I think that 5 or 6 may be possible. If they go 0-4 and sustain injuries like last year, look out for 0-12. This team quit at times over the past several years and if things go sour early the team could go "Here we go again" and in the tank they go.

But, like you said, hope springs eternal! Too bad UCF isn't coming in November. They get a walk on the weather...

Here's to a good competitive season! 04-cheers

Any predictions on attendance? 03-confused

Attendance?
I boldly predict we will average 20k per game!

Over all 12 games.
:D

(home games--if we win at all, maybe 70, 000 total--11.6k avg.
That season ender with UB is a major dog for attendance--what, 2k if we have 3 or fewer combined wins with UB??)

YSU has beat Kent in the last 3 meetings, '97, '98, '00. For those who are already predicting a "W" for Kent over YSU in '03, what are your reasons? Does Kent have a lot of returning starters? Will Cribbs totally dominate YSU? Just curious. I'm glad Kent still kept YSU on their schedule, it's a good rivalry. I see YSU is getting 115k for the game with 15k because changed the date.

YSU is hungry with two straight non-playoff seasons (8-3 & 7-4). YSU returns 9 starters on O and a good nucleus returning on D.
