The ESPN/USA Today Coaches preseason poll is out. Toledo is unofficially 35, BG 39, Miami 41, and Marshall 55.

Marshall is actually 45th.I'm suprised Toledo wasn't ranked a little higher.I knew this poll sucked when I saw USPAM ranked 11th :chair:

Sorry, the 55 was a typo.

I'm not suprised by the poll. A win against a ranked Minnesota team may get Toledo ranked in week two.

I forgot to mention that Northern Illinois is 49th.

5 MAC teams receiving votes; in the top 49!

If I am reading the "others" section correctly.... Miami is technically tied at 40th with BYU, just 1 vote behind BGSU.

I'll take it for now. Should be another exciting season for all the teams.

Just out of curiousity, how many of the teams in the top 25 have a MAC team scheduled this year? I have Minnesota, Oklahoma, Michigan, Georgia, Maryland and tOSU? Any others?

With all the personnel losses on offense, I'd have a hard time ranking USC #1 right now.

I'm going to agree with the Marshall folks; WV at #11 seems too high.

Isn't it different seeing Nebraska unranked these days? (No, that's not a complaint!)

I agree w/ Toledo fans: a win over the Gophers = top 25.

Even though they're not in the Top 25, Michigan State may be ranked a little high: they're breaking in a relatively untested QB and RB behind a largely-new OL.

Wanna talk UGLY. How about Eastern Michigan at Florida?

Other top 25 vs MAC

West Virginia at UCF
UCF at Wisconsin

Ball St at Mizzou
Ball St at Purdue

Akron at Virginia

Not too shabby. What's the reality of the MAC vs the preseason Top 25?
Marshall vs tOSU
Marshall vs UGA
BG vs OK
UT vs Minn
N. Ill vs MD
Miami vs Michigan

I don't think West Virginia is ranked too high. Athalon, Sporting News and Lindy's rank them very high; and their cupcake schedule helps. Without Miami and Va Tech, it should be smooth sailing towards a confrence title and BCS bowl game. My neighbor is a huge Mountaineers fan, he should be happy.
