Well Chris, the West is gonna be a grind this yr with UT, NIU, BGSU, WMU..ect slugging it out. The winner of the division is gonna have to earn it.
If we can effectively restock our O line (lost 3 out of 5 starters from 2002), and our defense plays to its abilities like 2001, I think we'll have a great shot at winning the West...This yr we get UT and NIU at home but have to travel to Kalamazoo where we haven't fared well recently. The road game at Miami on ESPN in Nov will be huge and a very tough game.
All in all I see another kickin season for BG....speaking of which. Our punting situation could be a huge problem. Pat Fleming punted the last 4 years and now we're trying to break in a new one...at today's spring game, the punting was horrible.
Spring game went well...majority that played in the game are the youngest players and all the walk ons. A good number of our O line players are recovering and rehabing from surgery. We could have 17 healthy O linemen in the fall....we haven't had line depth like that in ages at BG. Our skill players are extremely talented and Omar Jacobs is gonna be a great #2 QB behind Josh HArris...both were throwing darts today, perfect tight spirals. I don't think we'll score as much as we did last yr but I think we'll still put points on the board>Coach Brandon's offense and Coach Beckman's defense are both solid.
How about the Herd? What's the forecast in Huntington for '03?
Only 138 days til the season opener GO BG!!
