Yeah, well, hard to get as excited about the pigskin at Kent. I supposes we'll know a bit more about next year's prospects after the spring game
(April 25).

Read through the spring prospectus; here are my key takeaways:

1. Some big coaching shifts- should be interested to see a new philosopthy. Pees is taking on the role of defensive coordinator and has hired a new line coach ( from Ball State). New offensive coordinator from East Carolina.

2. Hard to believe we will be hit with as many injuries as last year. Lost a total of 95 games in '02 to injuries - Alston and Cribbs key among them.

3. In terms of experience, deepest in returning receiver core ( 4 of 5 back) and 8 linebackers back. Weakest on defensive line; going to a three man front with only one retruning starter.

Bottom line is I always hope the Flashes will be better. If we can keep either the PSU and Pitt games close; should be a good omen.

You just hope to avoid a pile of injuries in those two games because we will be physically overmatched at some positions--OL, DL in particular. I'll be happy if we come out of those two games relatively healthy. If we come through them and not be mentally crushed also, that would be fantastic.

I bet board traffic slows down quite a bit now that all MAC hoops are done.

Seems like a good schedual for Kent; but for the Flashes to have any success this year they will have to get Cribbs "mind-set" back into
the game - a least the throwing game. We (and everyone else) know
he can run, but he had no "zip" or real accuracy in his throwing game
last season. A lot of those passes were "lame-ducks"......................
it seemed that he threw much better his Freshman season...............

Hopefully with an experienced receiving group back he can get it turned
around.......or another long season...again!

For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction.

- Toledo board is heatin' up
- Atlantic 10 Board merger (hundreds of new peeps!!)

If you guys are ever short on conversation -- stop by The Sports Bar. Lots of good off topic discussion there from politics to general goofing off.
