I got some basic observations and predictions going into the stretch of the season for the cajuns.

First, this cajuns team is awesome, top to bottom, left to right, by far the best team since I've started attending school. Our starting pitching is vastly improved from last year, and if this team can stay healthy, this team will be in a Super-regional.

Secondly, Our hitters have been in a funk, but eventually, the bats are gonna get better, and when that happens, this team will be able to beat anyone in the country, and I seriously mean ANYONE in the country. We havent seen the full potential of Morris and Hawke, when we do, people are gonna be scared.

Third, Cockrell is one hell of a #3 starter, if he continues to pitch well, I think you have to consider him the best overall player in the sunbelt because of the variety that you can use him, as a dynamic infielder, an athletic pitcher, and also a very good hitter. Cockrell has baseball in his future.

I am really optimistic with this team, but I have no confidence in any selection committee, thus why even if we win the belt, both regular season and tourny, I think we are a either a #2, or a #1 somewhere else. As for location, I think we will be a #2 in a winnable location. If we are a #1, we'll prlly be at LSU. I think theres a good chance of us being a #1, LSU a #2, and NSU as a #3, with the #4 going to an automatic, prlly like a lamar or someone who upsets in the tourney.

Take it for my 2 cents and a bag of donuts.

Don't give up on hosting. In 2000 we were a 2 seed and hosted. We are usually in the top 20 in the country in attendence and can draw well. If the NCAA selection commitee gives us a chance to bid on hosting, UL will do everything in their power to host.

Our team has played well this entire season and even if we are a #2 seed I think we'll be able to beat just about anybody in the nation. I think we can beat LSUA&M and give Tulane a run for their money if not beat them.

I'm still holding onto hope, but my belief is that we will get reemed by the selection commitee. I mean guys, I have no faith after...
Mens Basketball getting terrible seeds 2 years running,
Womans Basketball not even getting WNIT invite,
and worst of all, the #4 seed for our softball team last year.
