Stick4489 Wrote:Serious question.  Was the Miami band even at the game?  They didn't perform at halftime.  I remember a few folks with instruments sitting with the Miami fans.  However, they weren't in uniforms.  I honestly just thought they were fans.

I've seen the Miami band at Yager.  So I know they have a much larger, more organized marching band than what was in Huntington.  Was that some kind of pep band? Club?  Was it officially associated with the university?  Just curious.  Thanks.
As far as I'm concerned, you've already forfeited your rights to a serious answer.

This writer has described it as paranoia - of which your post certainly supports that theory. Sorry dude. But hey!! You wrote a real nice little speech. Keep up the good work!
I wasn't responding to these allegations of bugged lockerrooms, and I've never once accused Marshall of doing so or contributed to this myth.

Maybe you should re-read my post and realize I was responding to the moronic comments by your coach about why these myths take flight the way they do. It's because Marshall was welcomed into the MAC only to return to the behavior that got them kicked out initially. Trust is something that few in the MAC are willing to give to the Turds anymore.

We didn't return to those actions.

Didn't you read the report. We started them up before we came back to the MAC.

(I am not bragging, I hate that we cheated.)

Just trying to bring some humor.

So actually, you guys didn't do your homework very well. :D

Quote:There's a difference between a credible allegation and a provable case, however, and, fortunately for my life as a moderator at MHT, most of our guys understand the difference.

And you will find that this "bugging" nonsense is neither of what you mentioned DG. What you have here is an unsubstantiated guess as to why you band director may have heard something. Nothing about the allegation is credible other than what your band director may have heard. Other than that you have nothing but pure speculation.

Again, as DG mentioned this is a story that has "legs" due to the interest of others, not Miami fans (even the rabid internet type! 03-wink I haven't seen it mentioned on the Miami boards at all since the week of the game last November.

Well I don't know for sure, but it's half the time it takes to dust BG's 10 championship trophies.

My e-mail to Mr. Fish.............

Dear Mr. Fish,

Is it paranoia when the institution has historically cheated, broke rules and shown absolute disregard for academic ethics. I refer you to the NCAA link below and to the Marshall roster of 30% prop 48s.

They may not have bugged the locker room, but they do cheat.
<a href='http://www.ncaa.org/news/2002/20020107/div1/3901n33.html' target='_blank'>http://www.ncaa.org/news/2002/20020107/div...v1/3901n33.html</a>

Regards

Clay,
Did you ever mail in a check to The Big Green Foundation after you lost that football bet last year?

Just curious

I don't know if 30% is accurate or not. However, assuming it is, what percentage is against the rules? Is 30% against the rules? 25%?
10%? 1%?

How is having prop 48s on the roster cheating?

For a prop 48 to make the roster he has to become academically qualified. Isn't turning these students flagged as marginal into qualified student athletes commendable?

Why aren't you championing the excellent job the Marshall football program has done with helping students who didn't quite make the grade in high school become students who excel in college?

This is a rags to riches story that should be envied and emulated.

Well, with most State universities it is one all the way up to four per year.

In Florida, we have to abide by one per year and no more than three in any four year period.

So at any one time, we cannot have more than 4.
That would 1/2 of one percent or .05 of our roster.

Most conferences (MAC&CUSA excluded) have the same type of rules. I believe the SEC is 3 and the ACC is 4......

As for championing the development to student athletes?
What an F*** in joke. You and I know what the freshman class can achieve if they haven't declared a major! The class load has nothing to do with common body of knowledge!! Just what ever they can make a grade in.

Just an FYI!
