I would bet Middle still plays a couple IAA opponents every year... and i don't have a clue who is on their schedule other than Sun Belt opponents and the annual drilling by an SEC school...

WKU needs to get their home attendance up in the next couple of years.... EKU, MIddle, and Murray would unquestionably help that....

Its just a matter of time before we go to 1A, why would the millions and millions of dollars be put into Smith Stadium if we were going to continue to play 1AA. I don't care if we play in the Sunbelt or the MAC as long as we're 1A.

I'm not disagreeing with you but from all I have heard the work on the stadium had to be done even if we stay 1AA. The place is falling down for a while. (I believe there are reports of offices being rigged with hoses to drain water out of them.)

You'd lose 03-wink The MUTS did play 2 1AA games their first season in 1A (1999). They have only played 3 1AA teams since ( in 4 years) with none scheduled this year or next.

The fact is that WKU would do better than most fellow conference mates think. I really think if we do move up at some point that we would be contending for the title by the second or third year.

We'll all have to wait on that one. I want WKU to come to 1-A soon, so the belt can crush all the confidence WKU has in their football program, like what has been happening to the basketball program.

You are the delusional one aren't you, just because we haven't won the tourney the last two years the programs being crushed? Remember that quote you'll be eating it this fall! 04-cheers 03-wink

Winning the conferences means nothing when you're in a conference that takes one and MAYBE two to the NCAA BB tourney. It's all about winning that tournament crown and getting to the dance. The conference schedule is just a tuneup for the conference tourney, IMHO. A SunBelt Conference Crown might make for a pretty trophy in the trophy case, but it pales in comparison to the tourney championship, the hoopla over March Madness, the "selection" show on national tv, blah blah blah. It's all about the conference tournament baby. No one even remembers who won the regular season crown, 'cept the winners themselves. :)
