Against an arguably better team. I looked up the box score for last year's Marshall game against VT. They scored nothing but junk in the fourth quarter. We freaking had the score at 28-21 in the fourth with some momentum.

OH... and they put their scrubs in and THAT's what got us back in the game. I don't think so. They only put in Vick and a couple of second team Defense players. And they sure as hell put them back in within a play of UCF waking up. We scored on their first team D which is something that Marshall could not do. Do I think that Marshall held back against Hofstra. No.

I think UCF definitely showed some flashes during this game. Early in the 4th quarter it was very much a ball game. This VT team may be in the mix for a NC. So excuse me if I get a little ticked with the UCF bashing. Did UCF embarass the MAC? Not.

I can't make any solid predictions yet. But I have to think that we can beat Marshall and Miami. I also think NIU is better than Toledo this year and the MACC will end up in Dekalb. I have to admit this is only a first week prediction. Anthing is possible.

There were positives on the UCF side of things. We scored 4 times on the best defense we will see all year. Our special teams is an extreme improvement. Haynes is going to run on MAC teams. We will have more dimensions. Our receivers core is still very talented. What the hell happened to our pass D? We've got to be able to rush the passer. However, VT's line is the best we will see this year.

Sac is full of sh!t coming in here and talking about UCF. We did a lot more than Marshall ever did. It is impossible to draw an inference from our respective matches against VT on who will beat whom this year. But judging from this weekend alone. I gotta feel good. And if you're a reasonable Marshall fan, you've got to be thinking we will be favored this year.

If I had to bet on how the MACC would play out right now, I'd have to go with UCF and NIU, too. Good thing for me that it's a long season. :D

UCF represented the conference very well. That was a very good game. It appeared to me that VT did put in some backups, but they d@mn sure put the starters back in. That, by itself, tops what Marshall did last season by a mile. They got garbage points at the end of the game, and we all know it. The Herd fans that are acting like jack@sses know it, too. Their jealousy is what causes them to spout off so stupidly.

The Knights appear to be a very good football team this year.

Yada Yada Yada.

Talk Talk Talk.

I stand by my statements in an earlier post. You guys got a lift when Beamer put the scrubs in. He had stabled the horses and had to bring them out again.

It took VT a series or two to readjust and re-warm the starters, but in the 3rd and 4th quarters VT continued the stomping.

As far as showing you guys came out flat and looked to have given up on yourselves halfway thru the first quarter. I remember the score being 28-0.

I credit you with having about three good series against VT, but that was all you could muster. VT basically moved the ball at will. You made no better showing than anyone else in this league would have shown.

Hey it happened to us. Yes we got our asses handed handed back at VT. No Herd fan would doubt that. But comparing our pitiful play at VT last year to your mutually pitiful play this year is ludicrous.

Don't get all puffy-chested UCF boy. You ain't done $h1t still yet. Right now UCF is 0-1.

Don't you come on here bragging about UCF either. You still have alot to prove.

Best of luck, keep the up spirit of good sportsmanship, keep the smack friendly and enjoy the season.

See you in November.

Every year teams need to prove themselves. I've seen a lot more out of UCF with their loss then I did with Marshall and their win. So I wouldn't be spouting that UCF hasn't proved anything because they are 0-1. The fact is that they played a team a lot tougher than Marshall did last year and that team is a NC contender. So in my opinion you are wrong, they have proven something.

We got our arses handed to us last season in Blacksburg and you got your arses handed to you this year. Not a huge difference in either performance. UCF was more effective in scoring points while the game was still in doubt, Marshall was able to compete at a higher level while the game was still in doubt (in fact the Herd outgained VT in yards from scrimmage in the first half last year...just were unable to put it in the end zone). But to try and make a statement either way based upon TWO miserable performances is just meaningless.
We've played ONE week...by the time November rolls around everyone will be performing at a totally different level. Marshall/Toledo have proven they can step it up a notch as the season progresses. No other team in the conference has proven their ability to do so. Just ask BG last year...as of mid-October they looked unbeatable! Where were they come December? Just like UCF they were sittin in front of a TV in their living room. It's a long season folks.

I beg to differ...

Sept. 7: Northeastern 31 - Ohio 0
Oct. 5: BG 72 - Ohio 21
Nov. 9: Ohio 27 - Akron 10
Nov. 23: Marshall 24 - Ohio 21

>>VT is two deep and good at every position.  They don't have scrubs.  They're not Marshall.  They put their starters back in quick.  That's a hell of a lot more than Marshall can say.

Did I fail to mention that Hill threw 5 picks against Hofstra.  WTF?

Hey it happened to us. Yes we got our asses handed handed back at VT. No Herd fan would doubt that. But comparing our pitiful play at VT last year to your mutually pitiful play this year is ludicrous.

A loss is a loss and we both got one in Blacksburg. Period.
