The stats were somewhat out-of-sync with the score, as CMU racked up 524 yards to UNH's 361 and won time-of-possession by over 10 minutes. The difference was two turnovers in our own territory (fumble, muffed punt) which led to 10 UNH points. CMU also hurt itself with four personal foul penalties and a few missed tackles. The last missed tackle was the most painful, as it allowed a short pass to turn into a 48 yard TD and cut into a 40-26 CMU lead. 03-banghead TO make things even more interesting, CMU was unable to come up with an onside kick, causing some last-minute drama as UNH completed a short pass and began pitching the ball to everyone but the waterboy. The ball eventually hit the turf and was recovered by CMU with time expired. 04-drinky

My personal opinion is that 1) New Hampshire is a pretty good I-AA team and will do some damage this season with their BGSU-style offense and QB, and 2) CMU didn't take this game seriously enough coming in. I expect to see a much more solid performance against EKU next week.
