Two down and 10 to go for the 2003 Zip team. EMU is next, the same team that beat Akron last season and took the Akron bunch to triple OT two years ago. This Akron defense is not as good as two seasons ago so this should be another great game. EMU stinks and just lost to a 1-AA opponent. If Akron plays to the level of their opposition they will lose this game. Giving up an average of 520 yards per game is the statistic which proves that Owens is not fit to be a head coach. Owens cannot hire anyone on the defensive side of the ball who has a brain. He has told us for the past two years that the defense was turning the corner but it just gets worse and worse.

Somehow Akron will find a way to win this game, Zippers 42, Hurons 35, OT.

Owens live to coach against Howard.

Needless to say the Zips have struggled with the Eagles the last couple years but I will boldly predict the Zips will hand them a drubbing Saturday at Derby Downs.

Go Zips!

Obviously Kent's Math program is worse than I originally thought. Yes, Flash Fan, 41 is more than 38.

FYI: It is more than 6, 23, 16 and several other numbers too! :blueeek:

ZippyRulz's posts on our board this week seemed to indicate he hadn't quite grasped that concept yet. FF was just trying to help out.
03-wink
Coming on the Kent board to try to taunt us about football these days is just a bad idea for a Zip fan.
I think we have been pretty restrained, all things considered. We understand the pain.

Good luck with EMU tomorrow!

Capt. 'Roo -

Trust me, Kent fans get this difference. Zippy Rulz apparently does not. Can you help him or her out?

Yes. Is 38+31 more than 41+3? Given that game one was a virtual tie and the large differential in team performances in week 2 I think it is clear which is the better team at this point in the young season (no doubt a poll would bear this out). The rest of the games will determine what will be or what could have been but in the end I'm confident the Flashes will be looking up at the Zips in the MAC standings. And I still think the road to the MAC East title passes directly through Zip land.

Good luck w/YSU, #3 in the battle for NE Ohio.

Wasn't a tie.
Don't need a poll.
Given the home field advantage, game was actually more decisive than the score.
And you did lose last week, didn't you? Comparing losses is a loser's sport.
You have at least a two game advantage this year due to scheduling--(and I don't begrudge you that, it works out that way sometimes and I wish you luck with it): EMU and Cal Poly to our BG and Penn State. The rest of our schedules are even: Ball--CMU, Wisc.--Pitt, UCONN-UCONN. If our teams are "virtually even", you should have a better record this year. You could see that when the schedules came out. That's also why game #1 was so important for both teams. Both teams gave it everything they had and it was one of the great games in our series' history. One team made big play after big play on both sides of the line when it had to when the game was on the line and one team did not.

And do you know how ridiculous this sounds?
Maybe Marshall can say this, maybe Miami of Ohio. But, uh, when was the last time you even had a winning MAC record? WE'VE even had one since then! 03-wink

Thank you! It's a shame you didn't schedule them instead of Howard. Then you could playoff next week for 2nd and 3rd.

Hope you fill it up today vs. EMU! :D
