If found this on another message board:

The article linked below is very vague as this appears to be a breaking story, but it appears that a brawl broke out in a pub involving some CMU football players which resulted in the death of one individual and left another in the hospital with serious head wounds.

OK, I'll address this briefly since its been posted here. Nothing official has been released, and I can't yet verify anything beyond a doubt, but sources I believe have communicated the following:

1) The police are still investigating, and there have been no arrests. In part, this is because many people appear to have been involved and there were many witnesses.

2) One CMU player may originally have been involved.
Said involvement does not seem to have been criminal.

3) The persons most responsible for grievous injury to the deceased were not CMU football players.

I will stress again that we don't know much yet but are understandably concerned about all of this, for numerous reasons. :(

Dude, sugar coat all you want. If a CMU player was even slightly involved in a person's death, or didn't bother to prevent it, then he's at fault also.

This story makes me sick.

And just where exactly do you get that from the article? Don't be a jerk.

If a CMU player did anything wrong, whether it was illegal or just involved bad judgement, the coach has already stated there will be serious repercussions. However, I repeat Kinght Time, we don't have close to the whole story. From the newspapers, we know that a CMU player spoke to the coach the next day and went with him to give a statement to police. It may be that he was just a witness. It may be he was a participant. The only thing I'm sure of right now is that we don't have anything like all the facts, although it appears certain that multiple persons were involved in the beating.

Obviously, this kind of senseless death has everyone shook up. The CMU faithful on the Insiders are expressing a desire for swift justice regarding everyone who deserves it. I'll provide more info as soon as it's available through official channels.

Here's a link to an earlier story, for those interested:

<a href='http://www.cm-life.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2004/07/14/40f4b3d6b3189' target='_blank'>As you can see, there were a lot of people involved.</a>
