because the BCS is a freakin JOKE!

If a team like Northern Illinois runs the table in the MAC they won't even get a sniff at competing for a national title. I don't care about the money factor or sharing the money. I care about giving every single team in college football an opportunity to compete for a national title.
We see cinderella stories in the basketball tourney but won't see them in football because of the cartel and monopoly known as the BCS. It will be a real crime if Northern Illinios runs the table in the MAC and only goes to the Motor City Bowl to play the worst team the Big Ten. I am not saying Northern Illinois is good enough to win the national title because they probably are not but they deserve an opportunity to compete for it instead of playing in the Motor City Bowl against one of the worst teams in the Big Ten. Division 1A is the only division in college football that doesn't have a playoff system in place. It is not about the players and missing class it is all about the money with the BCS. What do the kids in 1AA and division 2 and division 3 do when they miss class? You can still keep the bowl games and have a playoff system in place. If a playoff system does not work then have a 5th BCS bowl slot and have an automatic bid goto to top non-bcs team. Northern Illinois going to the Motor City Bowl is going to be a crime!

The mthyical national championship is a joke. Penn St got robbed back in the 90's because their was no playoff system. They voted Nebraska the national champions even though Penn St was also unbeaten. Complete Joke!

I really HATE the BCS!

First off, KISA, before you call the Motor City Bowl "******" maybe you should attend one. :chair: I have been to every game and it is not "******" and it is currently played in one of the finest indoor football stadiums in the nation. Detroit supports this bowl and we are proud of the game. We were there to offer the MAC a bowl game when NO ONE else was stepping up. Without the MCB the MAC would have been completely shut out of the bowl picture.

Now, I hate the BCS too! But...all of the proposals I have seen for a playoff rely still on the stupid polls. Until a legitimate proposal that includes a guaranteed slot to the champion of EVERY 1A conference is put forth, a playoff system will be just as equally flawed. 03-banghead

What I meant is if a team like Northern Illinois runs the table and goes unbeaten they deserve a better bowl then the Motor City Bowl.
The Motor City Bowl to a Big Ten team is a slap in the face. That is the view of a Big Ten Fan. NIU deserves a BCS bowl or a better bowl game against a better team then one of the worst Big Ten teams. Northern Illinois playing a team like Northwestern would be a crime. I am just tired of the BCS cartel and all the bowls keeping the little guy down. It is almost like trying to compete with Microsoft. The government says they are not a monopoly but just try and compete with them. Nearly impossible. It is the same with this BCS cartel.
