Lee Corso lives in Orlando and used to be a big UCF supporter - until we joined the MAC. Now he is a USF supporter. Here's a quote from Nov 2001 (see link for more)...

10:18 CST-After a peaceful evening at home, I just put four- week-old baby corn to bed. As I gaze upon my young son sleeping soundly, I am struck by how good life is right now.

My boy is safe and sound as a gentle rain begins to fall outside the window. Tomorrow we'll travel to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a lovely fall afternoon picking apples and drinking cider before the big game...

I'm sipping my morning coffee. It's drizzling outside. The Ohio State pregame show has started. Somewhere in this city, Randy Walker is preparing for the last time he will head coach a football game in the state of Ohio. I imagine Mr. Walker to be emotional as he contemplates what might have been. More than likely, he is reflecting on what strange and wicked mystic forces prompted him to take a head coaching job at Northfreakingwestern and abandon his nurturing mother. He may be struggling to find the right words to inspire his young purple-and-black-clad young men, knowing -- deep down -- they are going to get their butts whipped in front of 100,000 savage Ohio State fans.

It's 9:10am, Sept. 27, 2003. Having spent the long dark night driving the streets of Toledo alone, I was left to comtemplate life and all it's wonders. I now find myself sitting at the computer, dog-tired, and relaxing just a little bit as sleep starts to overtake my keystrokes. A good long sleep should clear the cobwebs out just in time for the 6:30pm kickoff in the Carrier Dome. I'll drink a beer, cheer the Rockets, and enjoy the evening with my kids and Mrs. Karl before heading off to work into the wee hours of tomorrow once again. And Lee Corso is still an idiot.
