A high turnover rate for assistant coaches usually means one of two things: they are well-prepared by their current institution to strike out on their own, or the dept/admin/salary sux and they want to get out ASAP. Has anyone checked into the salaries of these assistant coaches? If it is anything like WKU's pay for lecturers or other "support roles," I bet these coaches are deathly overworked and underpaid. I would get out too under those circumstances.

We were lucky to have him, he was GOOD!

It's part of life as a mid-major. The key to success is making good hiring decisions... reload as good or better than before.

The reason why this annoys me is not because he was SO GOOD!, its because we have lost a more than normal amount of assistant coaches in the past two years.

I think part of it is WKU is starting to be recognized as a cream of the crop mid major. We were use to the lose a head coach every 4 years in basketball and take it as a cost of doing business. I guess this is the other side of the quality program coin. :frown:

Yeah. I guess we could suck it up big time and keep all our coaches, but then are they worth keeping?

If it came down to it anyone would rather win than to keep all of their assistant coaches, but its always nice to have some coaches that have been around for a while.
