Well, now that I have had the time to get some sleep and get my game recap in, I have to say, the Ohio Bobcats are better than what a lot of people think.

They have a good team, just need another year or two and they will be a team to reckon with in the East. Hopefully they will ditch the option game and become a more balanced team because they actually discovered that throwing the ball works.

That was a great game played on Saturday. Good luck the rest of the season Bobcats.

Do you mean "good" as in, "they'd clean the clock of any local HS team...easy!"

Or "good" as in, "WMU barely won it's first Div IA game of the year, ergo I should convince myself that their opponent is good so I have hope for the rest of the Bronco's season."?

I like option football, and it's ridiculous to keep discounting it. It has worked for Nebraska, Oklahoma, Alabama, Air Force, Colorado, Syracuse and NIU and currently works for Wake Forest, New Mexico and Navy as well. I saw Neuheisel go back to the option at Washington...and go to the Rose Bowl.

Option football also allows Ohio U. to recruit players that don't fit into systems run by other programs...and yet they can win with it. I saw an outmanned Ohio U. take it to Maryland...and it was awesome.

Having the ability to run a balanced attack is important. But running the option as the primary offense is a good idea. A very good idea. Knorr is not the coach to make it work...but there are some out there who can. Ohio U. should go after them, instead of trying to fix somethng that isn't broken.

Two years ago, Ohio was a couple years away.

Four years ago, Ohio was a couple years away.

Look on the bright side, at least you have "a few" bars in Athens to drown your pigskin sorrows. 03-wink
