Hey there, Sun Belt folks...

Back in 2003/04, my husband OwlJacket bought the NCAA 2003 college football game & was angrily disappointed to find out that they didn't have the Rice fight song -- instead, they had some fake generic fight song that they use when someone's fight song is unavailable or when they're too lazy to get it. (We're both Rice grads.)

So, last year, he said he was going to find out if they'd gotten it. Or even if he could import a sound file -- our band, the MOB, has MP3s on its website -- just for his own game. Nope.

Same deal this year. Rice got shut out, & meanwhile I've heard that some people even get TWO fight songs on there. On our way out of Best Buy, he said something about them having 110 schools' fight songs, but can't bother to get ours. So, I'm wondering who else is getting treated this way. OwlJacket said he thought some of the Sun Belt schools were left off, and that's why I'm asking y'all. So:

1) Are you one of the others deemed unworthy of getting your real fight song on a video game?

2) Are you steamed about it too?

3) Steamed enough to not buy that game 'til they do right by your team?

I'm just curious about who the others are. Thanks!

I don't have the game. But from reading other boards, I think North Texas still doesn't have theirs on there. I know MT's was on last year from playing it a bunch in the college dorm. NT seems a little steamed about it.

I owned 2004 and 2005 and both of them had the Cajuns fight song, but they only had about 1/4 of the actual song. They had the opening lines and then cut straight to the end. It was very discouraging. I feel bad for you Rice fans that have this game. It's a shame EA can't get all 117 (or is it 119 now) I-A fight songs on there.

North Texas, eh? Hmm, so that makes two that I know of (2 1/2 if you count the truncated Cajuns one). And yeah, Cajunman, I think it's 119 now, so 9 in all who got snubbed.

In our case, I think it's not that they can't, they're just too lazy. A guy on the Rice board -- I know he's been in the MOB, I think he was the drum major last year -- says they gave copies of the Rice fight song to both EA Sports & Sega. Neither has bothered to use it.

I know OwlJacket won't buy it 'til they get our song on there. Some folks seem to have just gotten used to it, though.

Troy's fight song has been on for 2004 and 2005 but I was sorely disappointed that it wasn't included this year. And they still haven't got Movie Gallery Stadium quite right, and they've had 2 years!

I guess I should be happy they bothered to get the uniforms right....

GO TROJANS!

We're pretty new to the game (our 2nd year in it). Our song isn't in the game but I don't think alot of FIU fans really care. We're just happy to be in the game. And over the 2-year period, we've already seen huge changes. Last year we got a generic Div. 1-AA stadium and this year they actually got alot of things included like: our logo on the field and in the endzones, college dorms in the background, the South Florida evening sky, the track around the stadium, etc.
But I can understand those of you who've been in the game for quite awhile. They should at least include those details. Well back to the game for me and all my other FIU cohorts.
