Feel free to vote with your head OR your heart. Just make sure your post explains your reasoning.

As for no option for 0-11, I was allowed only ten answers. Sorry Popper fans.

I chose 7-4. My heart says 9-2, but I can't overlook the facts of history.

9-2

We lose one in conference game. Prolly Troy on ESPNU (it's OK though 'cause Troy loses to NT). And we lose to either Bama or NCState. (I would like to see a late season win against NCState).

I didn't vote, but you don't think there will be any surprises (off games, injuries, coaching brain farts) during the season?

What all do you guys have coming back? Returning QB? RB's? DL? I think all of those things have to be taken into consideration.

I'm somewhat worried about UNT dominating this season coming up though, with all that they've lost (graduation and other problems). I just don't know how much their RB's can carry the ball.

I think that the SBC will have a new conference champ this year, and it will probably be MTSU or Troy. I wouldn't mind seeing either or both in both games this upcoming season.

Returning a Junior QB who guided the 17th (I think) ranked passing offense. Returning a RB who did nothing last year, but he has seen significant changes physically since last year. Coming at the opposing QB (and stopping the grUNTs rush) with the top rated D-Line in the Belt, and the top rated LBs in the Belt. Our Corners and Safetys last year were our downfall, and as with every season, are expected to make great strides.

I'm not worried about NT dominating this season. They won't.

MT (and Andy Mac) has NO EXCUSE to lose a Conference game. NO EXCUSE!!!

I could see us losing to UA and NCState. But I think it's possible to win both of those games. And I urge the team and the fans to not overlook Akron. It seems we've forgotten about them.

7-4, no championship, no bowl

Even with all the returning starters and other experienced players, I'm not sure talent and experience can over come the the poor coaching we have witnessed from mccollum the last three years.

I am still pissed about the Temple game and forever will be. If I had been AD, mccollum would have been gone after that game, not only for the idiotic coaching, but his off field antics.

That does sound very promising for the Raiders. I wish you all the best. It sound like you've got a good mixture of experience and talent. I also saw where the coaches picked your QB as the tops in the league. That's a great starting point. It's a lot easier to put pieces in around a good QB than to have it the other way around.

I think I chose a bad mix of words on my other post. I, also, do not think that North Texas will dominate the Belt like they have in the past. Yes, they have some great running backs, but how much of the offensive load can they carry all season. If they can't get a little something out of the QB and receivers, then they're dead. Defenses will adjust and just pack it in to stop the run.

Just wanted to look back at my pre-season prediction (7-4, no championship, no bowl). I was right on two out of three... I should have listened to my doubts and went with a more reality-based prediction on the Ws and Ls. It's my contention that if we'd had a competent head coach the previous four seasons we could have had three more wins per season than we did. The 4-7 record tends to bear that out.

With coach Stockstill in place now, the MT football team should underachieve far less.
