Bonus Question: What would you do if you were the head of Sports at Akron U - Fire Owens or Keep Owens?

While I'm not happy with this years results, I have to remember that we have a Heismen candidate next year in Charlie Frye. That will definitely give added attention to the Zips football program. Now, I don't know if I would fire him, because if you fired him, #5 and Co. would have to learn a whole new offense in one year. Thus, would the new coach bring a new philosophy of run instead of the "air it out" mentality the Zips have had of late? If that happens, #5 stats drop - or they just might drop because of not getting a complete grasp of a brand new offense in one year.

Something needs to be done on the defensive side of the football as well. I've got a feeling the JUCOs and younger DBs from Fla. they recruited are going to play A LOT MORE next year. I've been pleased with Vital (#24) and Hixon, our FS. Those are the only decent DBs worth mentioning. I'd like to see those Florida players with all of their speed in the defensive backfield.

No MAC will ever have a Heisman trophy winner. PERIOD.

They will have all-americans but not first team QB's. These 3 late game loses should hvae never happen. PERIOD. The Zips should be 8 - 1. PERIOD.

A change must be made. PERIOD. The Zips will go back to there regular Offense next year. I say keep the QB coach so Frye has freindly face around and bring in a new staff. PERIOD.

Anybode with the last name of Stoops will do.

2004 is a rebuilding year no matter who is the coach so the change must be made. This staff has been lame duck since last November. With Cherry, Irvin, Sparks, Brake and Hendry gone from the skill player ranks there is no one to replace any of these folks who is a proven commodity. Add in no talent on defense outside of Blackburn and this is a team that will be lucky to sniff 3 wins next season. Make a change now and maybe it will be better for 2005 and 2006. At least changes gives players and people hope.

Zips have Frye back and playmaking D next year

7-5 this year

WE will get a good recruiting class this year with the winning record

With Frye back next year and D not losing many people, Zips pull off upsets, even with hard schedule and go 8-4 and might win Mac East.

Charlie doesnt get heisman but gets all- american and drafted in 1 or 2 round
