Frye killed us in this one. You matched us on the ground and killed us in the air. Frye completed 79% of his passes for something like 400 yards. As I said on another board, I don't think he could have done much better than that if we had played without a defense on the field. We have not had a pass defense all season. And when everyone gets us thinking pass, the run starts to work as well. Only two more games and the misery will be over for this year. On to basketball.

Frye is the franchise. I think that everyone at UA believes he is under rated. I am amazed at how hard that guy plays. He'll squeeze everything out of every play.
I don't think that there should be any Heisman campaign though. I am one of those people who believes that individuals shouldn't be singled out. You know, the "There is no I in Team". If 5 didn't have anyone like Cherry or Sparks to catch the ball, he wouldn't have the numbers right now. Besides, it's not like we're Miami and have lots of extra money to throw around on a heisman campaign. I would rather the University put the money to better use.

I agree Frye (Jr.) is in the same group with Harris (Jr.) and Roethlisberger (Jr.). But Gradkowski (So.) at Toledo and Haldi (Jr.) at N. Illinois are pretty good also. And just think, all of them will be back next year. Want to make any bets on which teams in the MAC will do well next year? I will give you a hint - they will be lead by an outstanding quarterback.

I'm glad I had a chance to watch Frye play. With this divisional setup we have in the MAC we may not get to see him next year. But then I did not get to see Roethlisberger play this year - maybe in 2004.

You forgot Cribbs.

As good as Frye is, I doubt he'll even get "Special Mention" on the post season "All MAC" teams.

1st team: R-berger
2nd team: Harris
Special Mention:
Cribbs - 60% probability (based upon Cribbs' solid year, and a head-to-head victory over Frye)
Haldi - 35% probability (based not upon his personal numbers, but his winning percentage and game/team management)
Frye - 5% probability (The "Archie Manning" of the MAC. Great QB on a team that isn't competing for a championship)

Any of those 5 could start for a Big10 school.

Without W's no MAC recognition. Therfore, I agree with CK no special mention unfortunately for 5. Perhaps 2 gets mention or even 2nd team but the expected/projected losses to Miami and Marshall prevent our guys from getting anything.

Chip fan, your guys folded like they have all year even with a 14-o lead. You could have kept up whipping up on our "cheesecloth" defense, you could have blow us out.

Here's what happened: emotion took over. I have waiting all friggin year to see it happen and it finally did. Blackburn came off that field after you scored another touchdown and literally screamed at the D. They picked it up and showed some brilliance.

The offense picked it up and did what they should have done from the get go and pounded away at an inferior defense. The OL gave up only 1 sack and that was a cheap one (came from backside...again). 5 was under center and ran 42 off tackle not up the middle. Passes were smart...hell 5 even throew one away almost in the stands like I have been screaming for instead of forcing it or taking the sack.

607 yard of total offense is awesome, not much less than Oklahoma over Texas A&M. Running the 46's down their throat in the last drive was beautiful. The 7 minute drive oto opend the 2nd half killed the Chips. they were toast after that.

Nice win in Mich, finally after a num ber of tries.

I did forget Cribbs. But it has been so long since we have seen Kent State in football it's not easy to forget them. I have not seen Cribbs play but understand he is one of the main reasons Kent has shown improvement the past couple of years. He will also be back next year. The MAC will be loaded with outstanding quarterbacks in 2004.

I agree with your picks for MAC first and second team quarterback this year.

Belated congratulations. Last Saturday was a simple case of too much Charlie Frye.
