Dodo did this during his argument on the Zips board and does again here. He can say he may not have started the arguments, but when the Zips fans battled back, they met with threats.
On this we are all in agreement: May the Zips hire a kickarse coach and get the Rubber City people excited about their football team. A healthy Akron program is good for the MAC.
PS: Please don't ban me. I love you all.

With all due respect, first of all, I didn't threaten to ban anyone. I threatened to delete their posts -- not because they disagree with me. That is fine and dandy, and I wouldn't expect an Akron fan to agree with me on much. What I object to is an attack on the personal integrity of another poster (DG), a personal attack on a long-time MAC and HawkTalk poster and fan (DICK), and (less so) being called a "Dick." I would say all of the above CLEARLY violate the AUP.
The other moderators and I have consistently deleted personal attacks, whether they came from Akron fans, Marshall fans, Toledo fans, or whatever. We will continue to do so.
I don't know if you were around for the "old" SportsOnly days, but it got gawd awful over there. Most people had no desire to read or post, anymore, and I think we moved the board three or four times, progressively increasing the moderating abilities of the board.
All things considered, I think this board is one of the best and most civil conference boards out there. I'd like it to stay that way.
Did I cross the line on that thread on the Akron board?
Yeah, I probably did -- not as a fan, but as a moderator. I should be above that level of smack. But, hey, I'm as passionate a fan as anyone on here. And I'm a HUGE MAC fan. I'll admit, the needless attacks against Miami and her fans on the Akron board peeved me.
In any case, I wish Akron the best in finding a good, new coach. I would love to see their program compete with Miami (but lose to Miami) for the East title every year.
