Rumors are going around sayin that Frye is going to the draft early because he was so close to the coaching staff that got fired Sunday.
He would have to learn a whole new offense next year which would not help him get better looks from scouts.
I think he should go early. Thomas screwed him by firing the staff so he should return the favor.
There are also plenty of teams in the NFL that need a QB, giving Frye a good chance to go in the 2nd or 3rd round.
Good luck Superman with whatever you do

Maybe he should. Who are his advisors?

Frye is definitely the type of player that can play at the next level - I don't think it would be a bad idea

The question is whether now is the right time. I'd hate to see him try to go too soon and not make it. This is sensitive, which is why I ask who his advisors are. The last people he should trust with this decision are his former, fired coaches. After all, what do you think they were telling him to do BEFORE they got fired? If they are NOW encouraging him to bolt, it's unconscionable, IMHO.
Otherwise, he should consider all his options carefully. He might be one of the lucky ones who can go a little early and make it.

IMHO, Big NO!
I'm a guy for the players. Don't go 5. That's my 2 cent.
Listen to your father and mother. They'll come at you from their hearts, and will be there for you thru thick and thin. They should be your primaries. Pick out another parent or two with no agenda. Visit with them. Your parents will lead you to them. Make sure they are somewhat business and life savy.
Get your degree. Be the leader you already are. Get credit for bridgeing the gap to the next era. Stay with Blackie, Dan, Diontre, and all the other guys.
IMHO (at this time) you are not going to go high enough (due to record of W's and L's) to bust out right now.
Your call, good luck. Stay humble but keep your edge! Enjoy those around you. Take time to put a smile on someone else's face every day. You won't believe the enormous dividends that will pay you thruout your life.

I agree with my friend OLzip , stay and finish. You need W's to enhance your worth and value at the next level. Keep playing on Saturday's, sundays can wait. Besides that, Charlie, you cannot fight City Hall. I hope what i heard about approaching the Board of Trustees etc was misreported. You are the man, be the man.

He's a 3rd - 4th round pick EASY...any higher would be possible. He is really a hidden gem.

He should stay his senior year.
Although he would need to learn a new system, the new coach would have to make this an offense featuring Frye.
Passing is passing. That is his best asset.
He can do that in any system they put in.
I doubt the new coach would come in and turn this into a run first team when he has a QB like Frye.

Vienna, I hope you're not doing what it looks like you're doing. I'm sure before your friend or relative LO got fired you were not encouraging Frye to go pro. If it wasn't good advice then, it's not now.
As someone said above, young Mr. Frye should get advice from people who have his best interests at heart - and with no ulterior motives - his folks.
It's over. Owens is gone. Let the man leave with class knowing he made improvements here. Your posts are so transparent, are hurting him, and ending his legacy on a sour note.

The only people spreading rumors about Frye leaving are bitter former coaches, their friends, and people who have nothing better to do than log onto messageboards and make up stuff.
Frye will be back, so will the other players. Some may leave but if they want to why stop them.
Akron Football is on track to be something really special. It was not last week. Some of you "new" members of the board may not like that because you and your husbands will not be a first hand part of it. That's life. Move on and be happy and sucessful elsewhere.
