Only 1 game but...........

NT has a very young, but talented team, with 10 players that started their first game last week.

R/S freshman QB started his first game. Stayed within game plan, no fumbles, no ints, no big mistakes. 10 of 15 passing.

Defensive strength is linebackers. Bend but don't break defensive mentality.

Coach Dickey will have a vanilla, conservative game plan with emphasis on the run, patience and waiting to capitolize on the other teams mistakes. You'll get a good dose of Patrick Cobbs and Jamario Thomas.

They (the runningbacks) didn't live up to the hype against MT. Maybe it was MT's Defense that shut 'em down, maybe it was the NT O-line. Maybe it was just Game 1 and the problems that come with it. MT gave the game to NT. NT didn't screw up, MT did. . . . a lot. Hopefully NT's RBs will get it going in game 2.

10 carries for 58 yards (5.8 avg) for Jamario isn't exactly "shutting down". Cobbs did have over 100 with the new O-line missing assignments. MT has a good defense, but NT's O-line needs more time together to jell. R/s Freshman QB playing his first game & new-together O-line's first game........hmmmmmmmmm.
