Every year EMU hosts either CMU or WMU.

It seems possible that EMU could host an in-state MAC rival each year if they wish.

That would be sweet.

EMU vs. UT might play well also.

Just some two-bit speculation.

If this year's game is a financial success, you can be sure that it will happen again, soon. A key factor is how well the CMU fans will travel. I think the CMU alums in SE Michigan will show but I don't know about the out state contingent.

I would think that Toledo and Bowling Green would be the next guests for EMU at Ford Field. Both are close to Ford Field and travel well. WMU is certainly a possibility. There are lots of Bronco alums in the Detroit area.

MSU has been staging "roadshow games" in basketball for a while now and they have been financial successes. I see no reason that EMU football shouldn't be successful also.

IMO the annual game at Ford Field with either CMU or WMU would only serve as the foundation for the resurgence of EMU football. Again IMO there should be a five year plan of no more than two games a year in Detroit, also in the mix could be BGU & Toledo. The real deal closer on this concept would be to include at some point a game with Michigan State. By the time this would happen it would not be unreasonable to expect an attendance of 50,000 or 60,000. Also it could really boost the attendance of either the CMU or WMU game, by having ticket sales coupled as a two game package. This is the way to build a fan base, a good example is the way that Rutgers moved into the "Big Time", when they scheduled Penn State at Giants stadium, and experienced huge crowds which really increased their average home attendance. The big thing is to get a good start with some success in the first game on Nov. 6th; will CMU at least make a token effort to help by bringing their band?

One EMU away game at Ford Field a year is plenty. There are businesses in Ypsilanti who would suffer if more games were taken out of the area, especially those in Depot Town. Also, if EMU plays too often at Ford Field it loses its novelty and the casual fan will stop attending.

EMU already plays MSU (`99, `02) and Michigan (`98) at their stadiums. Neither school is going to give up a home game to play EMU at Ford Field.

Toledo doesn't play November 6 because of some of those BS MAC Tuesday night game of the week shite.
So I will strongly consider attending.
I am a closet EMU fan after all.
I think a strong EMU would be great for the MAC. Dare to dream.
By the way. If they added a new score board EMU could have darn near the finest stadium in the conference.
