Da Realist is not sleeping, just in a post football self-induced coma.

Basketball has never been my bag baby but even I would not count this team out yet. A few bad losses at home does not mean that much in a sport that actually comes down to just a few games in March. In basketball you can go 4-24 but have a good weekend and be the conference champion. This type of thing happens every year. Doubt it will happen at Akron but you never know. Looks like there are some big games coming up at Toledo and against Ohio. A pair of wins and all of a sudden the Zips are 3-3 in the MAC. Got to go get some road wins and beat Kent State.

As for the talk of firing Hipsher in the middle of the season that is absurd. No way that the Akron powers that be will be too concerned with another sports drama when one of the big dogs is on the front page of the fish wrap for criminal charges.

Let's get back to football talk. I am still waiting on an announcement for the Offensive Coordinator. Why is this taking so long? Winters should have stayed and been the OC.
New start with all new guys could be interesting - only a few months until Spring Football.

Good decision by Frye to stay in school. Going to the NFL would have been a major mistake.

Beat Penn State on Sept. 4 :)

NFW REALIST should Winters have been the OC!!!!!!. Its not his time, he is/was too in love with the spread offense and could not get his mind straight that ya got to run the football to win in the MAC.

He wasted all the talent he had last year and put all the eggs in one spread offense basket. The handwriting was all over the wall, he put 5 under center and ran the damn 46 up the other teams ******, he wins big time. He saw that trying the manao a manao deal with 5 and Benji at Miami got him embarrassed.

Clean house is what was needed and what we got. let JD have the ball now.
