Check out this article from today's Beacon Journal . This is the best response to "How Does Kent State Do It?" that I have ever read.

Excellent article. The way Kent keeps winning, Pluto will eventually be writing an article called, "How Does Kent State Keep Him?"

Beautiful article--Pluto, as always proves he's the best columnist in Ohio and really captures the feel of the program.

yes, GREAT artcile!.. this is why i love kent state basketball so much! i sincerely hope that coach christian will be around next year.. at some pt (2-3 yrs form now if we're lucky) we'll be looking at another coaching change - do you think gino ford has what it takes to be a head coach? he is intense & feisty like christian.. i remember watching him as a plyaer at OU - he played with great intensity.. VERY GOOD ballplayer.

Ford was a head coach before coming to KSU. I believe it was at Shawnee State, where he won over 20 games in a season. I have said all year that JC was the best coach in the conference. Now you know why. His bench decisions are also very, very good. 04-rock

Fantastic article, gives us such great insight into how they do it. I think the football program should borrow some of their motivational tools and team building tactics. I love Pluto's articles, gives us a great look at NE Ohio athletics without having to hear about OSU and Clarett every two minutes.

I cannot imagine Geno Ford as an assistant for another two years. He's a HC by then one way or the other...at Kent or somewhere else.

Excellent article as usual from Terry Pluto! Never in my 17 years as an alumnus and student at KSU would I have ever believed that we would get a program at this level. The make-up of this team matches that of the Kent State student body as a whole. Hard working, overachieving kids.

The teams over the past the 5+ years have made me so proud to be a Kent State alumnus. Not solely because of the accomplishments on the court, but because of the way these young men carry themselves and wear the blue and gold with pride and class. We are very fortunate to have such solid coaches and players during this run. Hopefully, we can hang on to Coach C for a couple more years.

These guys make me proud to wear my blue and gold and say I am a Golden Flash! Go Kent State Go!

Flash, I couldn't agree more. Kent State the perennial MAC power. Unbelievable. During my tenure at Kent in the early 90's you'd get 1-2k at the MAC center and the intramural champ could have given the team a run for their money.
