Bowling Green, Ohio - The 2004 season opening football game between Bowling Green and Oklahoma on September 4 will be televised regionally by ABC Sports and will be available nationally as part of ESPN's Game Plan. The game will kickoff at noon (Eastern) and 11 a.m. in Norman, Oklahoma. This will mark the first of three scheduled national television appearances for BGSU in 2004. The Falcons also will play on ESPN/ESPN2 at Northern Illinois (September 24) and at Toledo (November 23).
Last year, the Sooners were 12-2 and played in the BCS Championship Game when they faced LSU in the Sugar Bowl. The Falcons were 11-3 and won the Motor City Bowl. BGSU, which also captured the MAC West title last season, finished ranked 23rd in the AP and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Polls.
"We're very excited and honored to have this opportunity," said second-year Coach Gregg Brandon. "Our kids are thrilled to play on a national stage."
Since the 2001 season, the Falcons are 7-1 against BCS affiliated opposition, including a 3-0 mark against the Big XII.
Look out Sooners!!!
