   Duke, I can live with. We'll either win close or lose close, but NC State?! Dang, oh well, here's looking at 0-2, 1-1 at the worst BEFORE SoCon action begins! Hope we at least split them. Never been to Raleigh or Durham though, so it should be fun. GO CATS!!

Duke is like the worst I-A team by far. Make us proud and rough them up. Good luck staying close against NC State though.

I know we need the money to help with the expansion and the upgrade to facilities, but geez, victories play a majority, IMO, when it comes to landing recruits. And we open up 2004 at Alabama! Oh well, can't wait to go to Raleigh and Durham wearing my purple and gold! GO CATS!!

"Worst I-A team by far??? Ask ECU about that!!
Watch what happens the next few seasons as Duke begins it's "relaxation for admissions requirements" for football prospects!
The years of the former Duke great coaches will return. Athletes of the type of Mike Curtis, Jay Wilkinson, etc will begin to trickle back to the Dook program.
When I was a kid, Duke and Carolina dominated the South and the Mid-Atlantic area except for the SEC teams...and occasionally them to.
Duke in the 30's and 40's..when my Dad was playing..was in the top 10 perenially..even played in the Rose Bowl twice..once even HELD the Rose Bowl in Durham (threat of Jap bombing).
Wallace Wade Stadium will be rockin again in 4 or 5 years!!!!And you can best believe I'll be there!!!
Unless of course, the hoitie toitie eggheads at Duke have their way.
Hell, if they just knock 50 points of the minimum SAT--that will mean a handful more blue- chippers.

CatCooter. As an App fan and a Dook fan, it makes me sooo D jealous. What I wouldn't give to see ASU play Duke.
We've played NC State a few times--and it was fun--even tho we lost.
Came within a half a hair of beating them in 1980--the Rick Beasley's senior year!!
Hey, Coot--win em both. That will make the Cat's venture in to Kidd Brewer even more sweet!! Rotsa Ruck in Boone! 03-wink 03-wink

Phoenix rising... you are an idiot.

Duke's scout team would molest Elon.

And, like my sig says, we will be bowl bound next season. Just wait, and eat the crow.

Don't listen to him Catamount and Phoenix...he's a little uptight after the Maryland loss 03-wink

I wouldn't say Duke is the worst team in Div. 1-A...there are others...Army for one

Heh heh, Nate. Yep, I'm a Blue Devil fan SECOND to my Apps. I saw my first Duke game when I was like 4 years old sitting on my Dad's shoulders at a SRO Duke-UNC game in like circa 1952 in Durham. Also hearing Dad talking about the Rose Bowl game played in Durham during WW II made chill bumps all up my arms.
He saw a Duke game just a few days before he shipped out for Europe prior to the Normandy invasion and was later joined by a player from the Duke squad in his unit (8th Army, HQ Batallion).
And yes, in my early trips to Duke, it was always pronounced "Dook".
BTW, Bob Harris is an old aquaintance. 04-cheers 04-cheers 04-cheers

I don't care how you pronounce it, I'm ready for the game already!! 03-wink Seriously, I'm glad the Cats are getting the (somewhat) exposure and the $$$. Trust me, this game should mean more to Duke than us. If they win, no big deal. But if WCU pulls the upset, they become the laugh of the ACC. Can't wait!! GO CATS!!

Go back and read my post. I said nothing about us being able to compete with Dook and I'm not going to lie and say we could. Some of the big boys like ASU, GaSou, Western KY, and McNeese State can though in my opinion.

And if your Devils make a bowl next year, you can hand me that crow personally (extra crispy please). 04-cheers
