Sept 6.......Savannah State.......WIN, 65-7
Hey, they suck!
Sept 13.....McNeese State.........WIN, 35-28
This one will set the mood of the season. Win it, and there is a damn good chance we will slice through the regular season undefeated with the inside track to the national title. Lose it and we will be chasing #1 all season and be 3rd or 4th seed in the playoffs.
Sept 20....Wofford.....................WIN, 48-14
PAYBACK IS A *****!
Sept 27....Chattanooga.............WIN, 62-3
Football at UTC is dead, second string by halftime
Oct 4........Florida Intern.............WIN, 52-10
Welcome to 1-AA football!
Oct 11......Western Carolina......WIN, 28-14
Getting there...but not there yet WCU
Oct 18......Appy State.................WIN, 35-17
Appy has a laundry list of question marks on their team this season. I believe, too many to overcome.
Oct 25.....Citadel (HC)................WIN, 24-17
It's homecoming...we'll win. But, El Cid always gives us hell
Nov 1......ETSU............................WIN, 48-7
Another football is dead senario.
Nov 8......Furman U.....................WIN, 41-21
Furman would love to give us some payback but not with this team.
Nov 15....Elon.............................WIN, 56-7
Welcome to the SoCon, New guy gets pounded all season long.
SoCon Champs...again
National Champs...#7

After recent seasons, I could live with a 28-14 score, but lookout in 2004 at the 'whee! GO CATAMOUNTS!!

This will be a great season in SoCon. A lot of teams have the chance to break into the up-side of the SoCon. The top spot is a lock, but look for some new faces in the top 3 for the season. :)
The 2004 season will be WAR for the top spots in the conference. Appy will be settled, FU will hopefully get their sh-- together by then, Wofford should be able to build from last season's success, WCU should be positioned for a run, Citadel has been poised for a breakout since last season.
I know it is pretty damn early to make these assumptions, but this season is a rebuilder for 2 of the big 3 and smells of the old days of Marshall.
