We heard Martin talk about him ... the DBs seem to be playing tough.

Jersey's look pretty cool. Refs get up looks pretty funny, though. Sort of like beer vendors in stripes.

Jack Williams apparently made plays as a scout teamer. He did in the spring and summer. Good to see it continue. Adding Elam and Williams to the secondary from last year is like two free-agent signing in the NFL. Much improved.

Jack Williams deserves his own number! I just had an opportunity to watch Williams interception again on Tivo. What was really interesting was on the play preceeding the int., Iowa matched their 6'1" receiver Solomon, one on one with the 5'9" Williams. It was a jump ball and Williams broke it up in the end zone. Both announcers then went on to say that they would take that match up all day. On the next play, Iowa tried it again and this time Williams picked it off and went the distance.

After that, all the announcers could say "Get this guy his own number"!

In case you didn't notice, Smith was wearing 2 on the offensive side and Williams 2 on the defense.

One small correction on this that makes Williams even more deserving is the fact that Solomon is actually 6'3" not 6'1". I've said it once, and I'll say it to you guys again, you definately have a few playmakers on the defensive side of the ball this year.

Best of luck to ya the rest of the year. I'll make sure to try and follow the Flashes more closely this year.

Thanks for the update and the words of support WeRDomn8n. We are all hopeful over here for our team. I would just like to say that out of all the B-10 fans we see over here that the Iowa fans have been really great folks. It must be that midwestern mindset. Anyway, best of luck to the Hawkeyes. You guys have a solid team.

I agree and would add that you will have quite a few fans here when you play the Buckeyes. 04-rock
(I would add I'm probably one of the few here who actually has credit hours from Iowa City. Also, none from Columbus.)

Thanks for the kind words guys. I hope I am living proof that not all fans of opposing teams are jerks. I'll keep in touch over here as much as I can, so make sure to give me updates on what's happening with the F-ball team. I'll keep you posted on what the Hawks are doing as well.

Right on, axeme. I'm pulling for the Hawkeyes on October 16. By the way, good luck against the Cyclones this weekend.

Got a lot of conflict in the in-laws house annually as the Cyclone and Hawkeye factions do battle. Worse in basketball, particularly when ISU was good.

Also, it's a shame the Iowa fans did not get to see Josh Cribbs play. He would have been the best single athlete on the field in terms of speed, elusiveness, and creativity, and that takes nothing away from the great talent Iowa has. I don't think he would have made a difference in the outcome, but it would have been a hell of a lot more fun.

As RS Frosh, I don't think this is the last time, either.
