Guess not, Zips get blown out worse than they did with Owens. Maybe you should coach the team yourself or maybe you should resign because facilities mean nothing if the program sucks.

I feel bad for Charlie, Diontre, Chase Blackburn, and all the others seniors that wanted to win because its not looking good. They deserve better, but maybe Thomas doesnt think so.

Owens coached Zip team in 1999: Penn State 70, Akron 24 = difference of 46 points.

Brookhart coached Zip team in 2004: Penn State 48, Akron 10 = difference pf 38 points.

Akron improves by 8 points.

Owens horrid recruiting and abysmal player retention over the past 4 years is going to be tough to overcome for a few years. I liked our schemes vs. PSU...we just didn't have the personnel.

Go Zippies, there was no recruiting done the last two years, thanks to your husband/dad/brother or whatever he is to you. You gotta have the personnel.

There were scores of reasons it was time for him to move on. You make LO look ridiculous with your post - small, petty and vengeful - and to me you just reinforce the decision by acting so classless. It seems to me Owens had to fire at least TWO defensive coordinators. So was he wrong to fire them or should nobody be fired, ever? There was no reason to keep the mediocre coaching staff we had. You gotta be kidding me if you think LO and a predominantly high school coaching staff were better than what we have now.

And I wouldn't feel too bad for all those seniors. All reports from the papers and some who know them say they love this new staff. The great Frye himself even was quoted in the paper as saying as much.
