I know this will sound crazy, but I think OU will be the dominant team in mac east when the dust settles. Sure they have an abysmal football tradition BUT they are currently in overall 5th place in mac attendance with one of the lamest programs in the conference.
My guess is that Miami's ability to recruit will be severely marginalized by their near brush with the 15k rule. OU on the other hand has nowhere to go but up. What kind of crowds could we expect at Peden with a few mac east titles under their belt?

Miami has 13 MAC Titles, more than any other school and the highest all-time winning percentage of a MAC school. In fact, it is one of the highest of any school in the country. I am not a Miami fan, but I wouldn't bet against them being the dominant team in the East.
Now if somehow BG gets moved back to the East, I could see a battle brew between Miami and BG - similar to the "on the field battles" (not counting that Miami coach 2 years ago) between Miami and Marshall.

I have suspected for some time that Kit-Kat is a Miami mole in deep cover. He certainly has done a magnificent job of supressing the OU fanbase on this Board.
I think the guy may be a certifiable genius. . .

The 15k rule will radically reshape d1a football. Miami and BG both have great traditions and I respect them tremendously. But they have both demonstrated serious deficiencies in their ability to put "butts in the stands". Think for just a minute how susceptable these programs will be to Karl Rove type recruiting enuendo. The really astute Miami/BG fans know their programs are dead men walking. . .

 There were rules enforced back in the early 80's that forced several MAC schools to be declassified to I-AA in 1982. By 1983 they were back in I-A and the rules weren't enforced anymore.
Lawyers have a lot of pull with these sort of things so don't count on the attendance rules affecting Miami and BG.
