I just don't see much mutual benefit unless Temple brings their hoops......to be honest, they are probably better off staying in the A10 and dropping football altogether.

unless it's all sports it shouldn't even be considered, it would be the equivalent to shooting ourselves in the foot

The Florida teams are losing because the MAC is taking their recruits. :D
Seriously though, isn't Omar Jacobs from Florida? I know Toledo has 2 players from Florida currently on the roster (would have been 3, but one didn't have the grades) and we never used to have anyone from Florida before UCF joined the MAC.

"We will dominate the Midwest conference", but "our OOC games are really more important". Well, at least UCF ends up all right by getting in a conference that is much more geographically "friendly" to Orlando. It's a good fit for them but you can label the "UCF experiment" as pretty much a failure except that it balanced the divisions for scheduling.

I see the Temple folks dropping down to 1AA for football competition. Nobody at the 1A level really wants, or needs them. They should be playing Colgate, Lehigh, Villanova, Delaware, and schools of that classification and close to their base in Philadelphia.

I agree and disagree with U cincy kid.. The ucf experiment was mainly for scheduling.. I dont think it was a failure though.. for Ucf it fit an imediate need... scheduling.. $$$ on the other hand was not good situation .. It opened up fla a little more for recruiting for the rest of U .. and U got more TV.. with sunshine network tie in that UCF has. It was a short term fix... that was good for both sides.. I just cant see adding temple though.. unless its all sports... or U are ready to say u lose 1 to 3 schools to attendence.

I should probably clarify my remarks a bit more, goodknight. I should first point out that I was not attempting to slam UCF with my comments that the experiment did not work out...........yes, it helped to plug the gap with scheduling, and yes, we all knew it was temporary to some degree. But, I don't think the MAC expected your officials to handle your entry into the conference so clumsily, and then announce your departure barely into your 2nd year in the conference. Add to that your off the field issues (last year), and losing streak this year, and all in all I don't think you can call it a successful venture.
OTOH, as I've stated many times, C-USA is a far better fit for UCF, and I certainly understand why you accepted the offer. No hard feelings there, although some of your posters were certainly blowing a lot of "hot air" around here the last couple of years, as was your now-fired Coach K.
