Missed xtra point by UT makes it 6-6

Coach Amstutz's face is bleeding a little. But some girl was there to wipe it off.

Andre Ware sounded like he was going to return his Davey O'Brien award in protest for Gradkowski being left off the watch list.

Okay, they're talking about Amstutz's whistle now...

UT goes on a sack-fest to stall the Redhawks.

Question: Why can a team celebrate all they want after a sack, but you get flagged for the smallest dance move after a TD??

6-6

Well-designed fourth-down play nets 6 for the Rockets. This is the kind of screen play the Rockets have done so well over the last few years.
Extra point good.

13-6 Rockets.

Early returns: Rockets are looking more in synch, despite turnovers...

Oops! Turnover #3 leads to Miami trickery and touchdown. 13-13.

Betts is a weird dude. He alternates between awesome throws and breathtakingly scary near-picks.

Newsflash: The Silicon Valley Bowl Reps are in attendance according to Andre Ware.

They were talking about his whistle? Oh, when I heard them mention the rubber tip on the end, I figured they were talking about the UT *****, Mr. Hanky.

Is that inflatable monstrosity present?

Pretty dang entertaining first half. A lot of hard hits. A lot of big-yardage plays. Crowd seems decent.
13-13

That hit where the Miami receiver went upside-down and landed on his feet was pretty cool.
Anthony Munoz was yapping while Gradkowski threw an awesome 30-yard completion.

These teams appear evenly matched, which is easy to say when the game is tied!

Bad trick play call by Amstutz at midfield. Redhawks grind out a field goal.

16-13 MU

The refs are so accustomed to clock foul-ups at MAC games, they actually just imagined one.

Sidenote: The girl in the "sense is tied to memory" deodorant commercial is hot.

Miami has ratcheted up the quality of their pass rush AND pass protection.

16-13 late 3rd

Another world-class fumble by the Rockets.

Betts nails Robinson with a bullet to end the third. Touchdown 23-16 Hawks.

Note: We often rip on BG as a wind tunnel, but Miami is right up there.

Toledo already at midfield...

HaHa. Hey, my undergraduate work was at UGA. Does the deodorant girl look big to you? Hard to tell, but she has a pretty mug.

Anyways, back to the excitement: a BRUTAL clock-killing drive by the Redhawks ends in a fumble. Toledo driving, but Bruce's famed accuracy is not on display.

Favorite moment: Betts overthrows a wide-open guy who starts motioning for the refs to throw a flag, even though there is no other player within 20 yards of him!

Bruce comes up with big 4th down and 8 conversion...

Toledo collapses. Bruce falls down, then gets sacked, on 4th and 24 Bruce pads his completion %. Hey, how about a shot to the endzone???

As Dan Rather would say, this is just my projection, but I project NIU in the MAC Championship.

Thank you and good night.

Just from watching this game I can see why you say that. However, IMO this is the worst game the Toledo offense has played all year. I expect the offense to play much better next week in Dekalb.

Even within tonight's game they had moments of brilliance. If they don't turn the ball over, they should give the Huskies a whale of a game. The other thing is in the second half they could not pick up Miami's blitzes.

I haven't seen NIU since the BG game and its hard to tell how they've progressed after the UCF and Ball State games.

"4th and 24 Bruce pads his completion %"

Great analysis, made me laugh out loud.

Why? In three road games against better than lousy opposition, UT has averaged about 18 points and gotten smeared overall (not tonight, obviously).

What makes you think that your O will play better on the road in DeKalb? I hope you're not banking on history to carry your through - this one will actually need to be won on the field, and history won't help you. :D

He was bleeding from the inside of his nostril.
Should have trimmed his fingernails in pregame.

Whistle was Sportscaster PC for honker.
