Folks, I didn't see 2 plays of this game tonight...only ONE, early on, when the wife and I were at dinner. I don't have any thought provoking insights, no jewels of wisdom to pass along. I do have one observation thought.
It's 11:46 here, so the game has probably been over for about an hour, give or take a few minutes. I've read every thread about the game up to this point. Every post by every Marshall fan, imho, was exactly what I would hope to see out of fans of my own team. There's humility, acceptance, a bit of anger that one got away, but most of all, there's a touch of class in congratulating Akron and Charlie Frye. EdM, you were nothing but class. Herdya, same to you. And lots more that won't get mentioned now. But you all should be proud of yourselves. You've acted like the best of fans.

Thank you, Karl. I appreciate the kind sentiments. Just like with any other group of people, there are good and bad. At least the good have been able to get in and make the right statements before the bad come in and swallow it all up. Hell, maybe we'll all get lucky and they'll decide to hide in the shadows...

Thanks, Karl.
We are a hurtin' bunch right now, I can tell you.
Just have to re-group and get ready to play a very good BG squad.
Maybe having that extra days' rest will help??
Good luck @ NIU.

Also, I'd like to add...I haven't been all class.
I took a shot at Kent when, quite frankly, I shouldn't have. I reacted just like some of the MAC posters that influenced me to leave this board a couple of years ago. Though I'm not sure who will see it here, I want to extend my apologies to any of the undeserving Kent fans who might have been bothered by my attack. (Axeme comes to mind here as someone who doesn't deserve that) Hell, maybe you guys are hardened to stuff like that after all of the years that you've struggled, but that still doesn't make it right.
Anyway, My apologies, as I've never had anything against Kent. I just reacted in a moment of anger, when I should have kept my mouth shut.

I think you'll notice that, by and large, the dumb smack posts have come from poeple with not so many posts to their credit, with the exception of kk who is a moron all the time.
No apology needed EdM. We Flash fans can handle and deserve all the football smack anyone wants to throw our way. Our real season starts in two weeks.
As for the game--wildly entertaining with incredible plays good and bad. How do you go from brilliant to inept and back and back so quickly?
I knew Stan Hill would have a huge game against the AU D--just what he needed to build his confidence but I never would have imagined the bad decisions and blown plays in the last 3 minutes.
The fumble into the end zone was the single play that turned the tide and gave Frye some fire.
And how can you not feel bad for the kicker? There's so much psychology to being a kicker--he's going to have a tough time, mostly with himself. Sideline reporter said he was practicing FG's, didn't know it was 4th down, and had to sprint wildly onto the field and so was not probably as focused as he should have been. What a completely bizarre ending.

Axe,
The HERD had a timeout. I know it's 20/20 hindsight, but why not call the TO and get the play organized???
My new Herd haiku:
Herd chokes at Akron
unbelievable sadness
backs against the wall
Go HERD!!!!
