Georgia HS phenom Julius Lamptey, a 7-0 center, committed to Arkansas today, as per Dudley Dawson on SportsRap in Fayetteville.
Lamptey joins LR Fair standout Vincent Hunter as the 2nd member of the 2002 recruiting class.
The Razorbacks are furiously after national blue chip and All-American Olu Famutimi, a 6-5 guard from Flint, MI. Right now, he has Arkansas as his top pick, followed by Missouri and Memphis.
Also on the target list for Arkansas is Fayetteville HS star Ronnie Brewer, son of former Arkansas great Ron Brewer. Ronnie did not have Arkansas on his list while Nolan Richardson was coach, but with the hiring of Stan Heath, the HOGS have leaped into his favorites. Brewer is also considering Kansas, Ole Miss, and North Carolina.
Heath is on the verge of a big class at Arkansas. It's one of many good things to come for the resurgance of Razorback basketball.

Thats great news, I know that Hog fans everywhere will turn their ears when they hear 7 foot center and Arkansas in the same sentence. It also shows that Heath will definitely not be playing the same kind of basketball, but I think we are all ready for a change.
Ronnie Brewer is a superstud. Last year he came down to Van Buren and lit us up, and had the whole town talking for about two weeks. Sure hope he stays in Fayetteville.

Heath is going for height I think
He gets Olu, and he'll have Olu and Modica.. at 6-5 and 6-4, as guards.
Then again, he did bring Eric Ferguson in this year. Most people are saying this guy will be the next superstar at Arkansas. He has explosive speed and a good 3-pt shot.
