I'm looking at things that UT does that compares to what Mu is doing with BGSUcks!!! now. How about imput from both sides.

1. I think UT's offense (when it works, hopefully Miami we got out bad game out of the way) is overall better than Mu's. If Stan Hill can go downfield, I'm sure Bruce can.

2. I notice that BGSUcks!!! can't cover the screen very well vs Mu, but they may not be expecting it very much.

3. BGSUcks!!! run game is exceptional. Pope is awesome. This presents a huge problem. As in any game, can we make them 1 dimensional?

4. Our D back will be tested. I thought they would be pretty good this year, but if they attack Malone, we have issues.

BG has a great offense, but I think our offense stacks up very well against their defense from what I have seen.

I am glad this one is in the Glass Bowl. That should give us the edge and allow us to get a couple of stops by our defense to win the game.

A couple comparisons, and I'm including NIU in here too.

Stan Hill did thrown downfield decently today. UT doesn't take as many shots downfield - Marshall's O is more vertical, so there's not much of a real comparison between them and UT.

BG's running game is decent, but not as good as UT's. UT's is more of a power running game, while BG's is the option based on spreading you out and reading the DE. BG's D can be pushed a bit up front.

BG's QB is also much more accurate than NIU's, so UT won't be able to commit as many to stop the run.

I see a shootout. So take the under. :D

I think the analysis is pretty simple. Turnovers or big plays by the defense. It seems like both offenses will trade punches and TDs the whole game (especially watching our defense today keep breaking on 3rd downs). If there is one defensive stop or turnover and then the offense scores a TD to make it a 2 possession game, it will be pretty much over I feel.

The other factor is special teams and kicking game, and I like BG kicking game if it comes down to that.

Looking forward to it!

I predict that Nigel Morris will get two TD's. Omar did an incredible job of throwing into tight coverage today, but that is going to get him into trouble against Toledo. Morris and Jackson are going to be watching for it and will take full advantage. :D

And are they going to cover Sanders, Sharon, Magner, Pope, and Hawkins all at the same time?

Just wondering.

Oddball makes a legitimate point. Throw the ball into the kind of coverage he did today, and Omar could double his INT total for the year. On the flip side, there were some similarities between MUg's and UT's defense that concerned me. I agree with Moss....the whole game could turn on a single stop, a single special teams play. A number of folks I bowl with (another shot for you, Odd...) said tonight that the game should be a MONSTER high scoring affair. The same guys noted too that UT only allowed 19 yards in the 2nd half this past Tuesday :D

Some of those were just spectacular passes though... perfectly thrown.

I believe I used the word "incredible", and I agree that they were perfectly thrown. However, they were risky passes. Toledo has a young man named Nigel Morris, a freshman, who has awesome closing speed and a nose for the ball. Omar is likely to complete some of his passes like the ones he threw against Marshall, but Morris is also very likely to sniff them out and make him pay a couple of times.

This has the potential to be a GREAT game.

You guys are well aware that the DB for Marshall that got torched in the game is leading the country in interceptions don't you?

Both Bg and Ut's offenses are stellar. Both Bg and Ut's defense suck! I think it will all be about offense in this game.
The winner will be ____ if they can do these things:

1. Score more than the opponent (probably the last team with the ball).

2. If one teams defense makes a stand.

3. Team with less turnovers win. (and seeing last game, even though we won, BG had a LOT of turnovers!!!)

Good game, but to hard to call
My predict: BG 65, UT 63

Go BG!

I wouldn't say BG's defense sucks. I will say Jailani Jordan sucks. When he gives too much of a cushion they do a little 5 yard and out pass to the receiver he is covering and the WR gains an extra 2 or 3 making the next a short yardage down. When he plays tight, he gets burnt by the WR either in a crossing pattern or gets burnt with a streak down the sideline. That is why the Bohnet and Deslauriers from EMU looked like potential Heisman candidates that game.

I guess that's a good tradeoff for Malone then....

Right now I would say that are defense is playing great, against NIU we played great especially in the second half only giving up like 19 yards to NIUs great running game

I wasn't aware of his standing, but it wasn't the individual's talent that was the problem Saturday, imo. The scheme had HUGE seams in the zone that were exploited VERY well. I'd still be very surprised to see Jacobs get away with some of the passes into double coverage he got away with yesterday.

Of coarse I know that however, Harris is a good running back and there offensive line pushed you guys around all game whoever NIU has put in at RB over the last few years has been extremely productive, you cant make excuses like that, we did not play with are stud running back either but scooter rushed for a 130 yards, are defense did something you guys could not dominate NIU

Go Rockets beat BGstd
