Why is the North tower on Old Main taller than the South tower?

Yep, that's it.
Old Main was built in 1876. The designs called for the South tower to be taller and more glorified to salute the southern states. However, because of the Civil War's damage to the south, the UA had to get a Yankee contractor, who changed the plans as soon as he saw them to make the north tower higher.
