Arkansas in '02: Hogs deserve a little respect
By Andy Ottinger, SouthernBlitz.com
Arkansas has historically never gotten any respect in the football preview mags. Even though the program has always been over .500 during the Houston Nutt era, and have gone to four straight bowl games, something that can only be said for Tennessee and Florida in the SEC, the Hogs still do not get any respect. They are always well coached and always work as a unit, which allows them to defeat opponents who may have more talent. It's the intangibles, and 14 returning starters, that make the Razorbacks a contender for this year's SEC West title.
Arkansas returns 14 starters for next year, has gone to four straight bowl games, has a top notch backfield, and one of the best secondaries in the nation. They have an incredibly easy non-conference schedule with Boise St. being the toughest foe, and with more experience on both sides of the ball, I predict the Hogs to improve on their 7-5 record of last year and win the West.

Matt Jones was part of the quarterback tandem with Zak Clark, but Clark has transferred to D-II Central Arkansas. Also in competition for the quarterback spot will be Tarvaris Jackson and Ryan Sorahan. Jackson looks to be the best of the three, but you can count on Jones starting no matter what. He
