Kudos to the Toledo team for helping make the BGSU/UT game an exciting one.

I tend to disagree with the comment that UT is simply the better team. I think they've played well and deserve anything post-season that they get, but their game's not perfect.

To all the loyal BGSU fans, coaches, players, and family: Thank you from an NIU student who appreciates the hard work and honest effort you put into your game. We all know you weren't playing just so we could go to the Championship, you were playing to prove to everyone just how good MAC teams really are!! Even though you suffered a defeat, and people are going to roast you about the 28 point shutout in the 3rd, I think you have a great squad and an excellent quarterback in Jacobs.

All in all, this season has been an exciting and a great one...I just hope that next year is just as if not more exciting.

GOOD luck with the bowling you guys deserve it!!!

So what are you saying? You think BG is perfect? To be perfect you would probably have to be undefeated. I am sick and tired of people not giving Toledo credit. We beat BG and were the better team.

Last year BG beat us and I admitted to BG fans on this message board that they were the better team. I think that Toledo would have won the game last year if it was in Toledo, but it wasn't. It was in BG and that's the way it goes.

Toledo beat BG and NIU this year and are playing in the MACC Game. I guess you guys don't have to give Toledo credit, but they still beat you and that is all that really matters.

Dude....we are BG and NIU fans...of course we think our teams are better. We lost, so we look at a few key plays (Or for NIU what if Wolfe played) and say if they went the other way we would have won. That is what fans do.

No one will deny that Tole_o was the better team when the game was played that is why they won.

To take a quote from you "that's the way it goes"

Toledo must be judged as a team on its performance in all 11 of its games!

Toledo outplayed both NIU and BG in two games, but what about the first two games?
As a MAC representative, Toledo will need to redeem itself in its next two games.
Clearly non of the three top MAC west team should have lost to teams like Kansas (4-7) and Minnesota. (record 5-5 against division 1a teams) by 42 points and 49 points.
Gradkowski could only muster 3 and 2 touchdowns respectively against two mediocre defenses at best.
Look at these records against teams which did not distinguish themselves during 2004.

Sat, Sep 4 Toledo W 63-21

Sat, Sep 11 Illinois State W 37-21

Sat, Sep 18 at Colorado State W 34-16

Sat, Sep 25 Northwestern W 43-17

Sat, Oct 2 Penn State W 16-7

Sat, Oct 9 at (13) Michigan L 24-27

Sat, Oct 16 at Michigan State L 17-51

Sat, Oct 23 Illinois W 45-0

Sat, Oct 30 at Indiana L 21-30

Sat, Nov 6 at (20) Wisconsin L 14-38

Sat, Nov 13 (12) Iowa L 27-29

Sat, Sep 4 Tulsa W 21-3

Sat, Sep 11 Toledo W 63-14

Sat, Sep 18 at Northwestern L 17-20

Sat, Sep 25 Texas Tech L 30-31

Sat, Oct 2 at Nebraska L 8-14

Sat, Oct 9 Kansas State W 31-28

Sat, Oct 23 at (2) Oklahoma L 10-41

Sat, Oct 30 at Iowa State L 7-13

Sat, Nov 6 Colorado L 21-30

Sat, Nov 13 (6) Texas L 23-27

Sat, Nov 20 at Missouri W 31-14

I hope to see Toledo win convincingly against both Miami and especially the chosen non-conference team before bragging rights are in order. A great team plays consistently and does not get blown out by teams with 4 and 5 (Div 1a)wins respectively.

Both BG and NIU can claim to be amongst the top three teams in the MAC West. All three teams have a responsibility to carry the MAC West name high and perform well against non-conference teams.

Neither BG nor NIU have been blown out by non-Mac teams this year. Kudos to BG for convincingly beating Southeast Missouri State and Demolishing Temple. Most impressive performance of the MAC this year was arguably BG performance against Oklahoma(ranked 2).

Sat, Sep 4 Bowling Green W 40-24

Sat, Sep 11 Houston W 63-13

Sat, Sep 18 Oregon W 31-7

Sat, Oct 2 Texas Tech W 28-13

Sat, Oct 9 (6) Texas W 12-0

Sat, Oct 16 at Kansas State W 31-21

Sat, Oct 23 Kansas W 41-10

Sat, Oct 30 at (23) Oklahoma State W 38-35

Sat, Nov 6 at (22) Texas A&M W 42-35

Sat, Nov 13 Nebraska W 30-3

Sat, Nov 20 at Baylor W 35-0

Toledo fans should be aware of their entire 2004 record especially their first two games when discussing their teams record and All MAC selections!

You are correct. And the judge would say that the young team that started the season improved tremendously and was a much better team at the end of the season. BG and NIU were better than Toledo in September, no question. But in November Toledo was the better team and that is when the MAC Divisional titles were decided.

Well Tom, I think Toledo is better than NIU and BGSUcks, and I have the scoreboard to back me up. What do you have? other than "ifs" "buts" "coulda's" and "woulda's"? :ownd:

Kinda hard for us BG fans and NIU fans to say we're better than UT...I mean we're all 8-3. Only UT beat both of us and NIU went 1-1. It sux BG had to go on the road against NIU and UT but we will get both on our turf next yr. That's the way the sked goes. BG needs to get over that hump of winning the big MAC road games. That is the only obstacle we still need to conquer.

I am really starting to believe this home field advantage stuff in the MAC. Tuesday night, you could just see the GB crowd wake up in the 3rd quarter. I mean BG had that place Q U I E T except for the Falcon faithful. Once UT started their comback, the place came alive. There is a reason UT is 30-1 in their last 31 games there. There is a reason BG is 22-2 in our last 24 at the Doyt and NIU has an awesome home record the last few seasons as well. It is very difficult to win on the road in the MAC...especially at the top teams' places.

Hey TJ, We still have hoops!! Remember when you posted that? So far, I'm diggin BG's chances on the hardwood. We'll be waiting for you at the Doyt next year.

Yeah, I remember posting it. Perhaps I spoke to soon? Naaaahhhhh, the hoops rivalry is similar to the football rivalry, in that you can pretty much toss out the records.

Besides, Stan owns Dan in the head to head department.

When was the last time Joplin produced an NBA player, that isn't on some practice squad, in the CBA, ABA or playing overseas? No the NBDL that Stempin played in does not count.

Nice try in changing the subject because you can't answer the question so you take a "Lott Industry" direction and avoid it all together. Not to mention you have too much time on your hands to search the Internet for crap like this from 3 years ago. He was out of Dakitch's hands and had already graduated. He was never in any trouble before that while playing for Dakitch. But if you want to talk about crimes....Football players still playing for Fatstutz seem to get in bar fights on a yearly basis, and oh yes they like to fulfill their dreams of being a baseball players by throwing pumpkins through car windows.

Wasn't much of a search, everyone knows about Trent and his exploits. As far as not getting in any trouble while playing for Jockitch? You are wrong my feathered friend, Trent had a couple of disordly conducts and some other thug offenses while playing for BG.

Now we both know that BG's football team has its share of bad apples. :withstupid:

Sure TJ, and those players have been dismissed from the team.

EVERY school has a couple....EVERY one.

You're fair about things TJ, and that is cool. But I gotta admit it seems like Amstutz lets things slide more than necessary.

Good luck against UConn.

GO FALCONS!!! BEAT MEMPHIS!!!

How can you say he lets things slide more than necesarry? Of the two players who were involved with the keg incident, the walkon who was facing the serious charge was dismissed from the team, the scholarship player who faced the less serious charge was suspended indefinetly, the charges against the scholarship player have now been dropped. It appears that his role in the whole ordeal was minor, yet he was still suspended indefinetly. I hardly call that "letting things slide".

Thanks for positives about our upcoming game, and although it truely makes light headed to say it, good luck against Memphis.

Last night on the news they had some footage of the clowns in orange and brown hanging out around Mobile, the funniest stuff was from the footage shot at a bowling alley. What I want to know is how can players who play for a place called BOWLING Green be so awful at the sport of bowling? 03-lol Although Omar did pick up an impressive split.
