The MAC vs. the other conferences (D-1 only):

Majors (5-7):

vs. ACC (1-0) - Kent over Florida St.
vs. A-10 (1-0) - Miami over Xavier
vs. Big East (0-1) - Buffalo lost to Connecticut
vs. Big 10 (1-0) - Miami over Ohio St.
vs. C-USA (2-2) - Split against Depaul (NIU won, BG loss), Loss to Marquette (Kent), EM beat St. Louis
vs. PAC 10 (0-1) - Marshall lost to Oregon
vs. SEC (0-3) - Losses to Kentucky (Ball St.), Arkansas (EMU) and Vandy (Toledo)

vs. High Mid-Majors (6-10):
vs. Colonial (0-2)
vs. Horizon (3-3)
vs. Missouri Valley (2-3)
vs. Sunbelt (0-1)
vs. West Coast (1-1)

vs. Lower Conferences (7-0):
vs. American East (1-0)
vs. Independant (1-0) - Kent beat TX A&M-CC which really could go like 20-3 (look at their schedule)
vs. MEAC (1-0)
vs. Mid-Continent (1-0) - CMU beat Valpo - usually the top team in the Mid-Con.
vs. Northeast (1-0)
vs. Ohio Valley (1-0) - EMU beat Austin Peay, who were pretty good last year.
vs. Southern (1-0) - Marshall beat E. Tenn. St, which were 24-5 last year.

I don't really care to argue if I have positioned conferences correctly (though I think only the A-10 might be argued down to mid-major and, thank heavens, we don't need to deal with Mountain West and the WAC at this point.

The MAC has been really solid against the majors and hammering the minors. I think hammering the minors is significant, because there are some pretty good minors mixed into there. The performance against the mid-majors has been weak though. With the exception of Kent's loss to Old Dominion, none of the games have been against teams predicted to be near the top in their conference. On the other hand, predicting who will be at the top of a mid-major is not exactly the media's strongpoint.

My bad.

Miami over the Purdue. More impressive anyway.
