This is a chance for Schools to show some support for Bowls, and to make a positive statement, Will any have the will, and the funds to do it? What's your guess?

If Akron makes a bowl, the band will go anywhere in the nation except Hawaii. It appears there are no funds to get everyone over there. 03-banghead

We had a thread on this at AZZ.com.

Apparently, when Michigan State played a bowl game in Hawaii a few years back, they held a lottery to select 30 band veterans to go. Even Michigan State couldn't afford to send any more.

From what I've heard, the Miami band WILL be going to the bowl game, but not the MACC.

Talk about a high end Bowl; the Independence Bowl lists among their Bowl week events, a special party & reception for both team bands. Looks like NIU band would have to go.

Marshall's band is having a meeting today to find out everything about the bowl...which is most likely that they, or a pep band, will be going. But the rumor is that the full band will be headed to Fort Worth.

We're telling our band that our bowl game is in Boise and they must get their by bus.

Then we will invite the Ohio band to represent us in Shreveport.

Be careful what you wish for... per The Fleming File:

Quote:The Ohio University band performed at halftime here. This is what I've been reduced to with my alma mater banned from this column. Here's my review: pear-shaped white guys in black polyester trying to dance like Christina Aguilera. So bad it was good. …

You should see our band dressed in drag performing to the musical classic: Rocky Horror Picture Show. 03-puke
