"It's obvious to me ... that the MAC conference produces some great football teams and great football players,'' he said.

Yeah, Solich has a lot of connections, particularly in Cleveland, according to one of our alums.

Now he needs to learn that "MAC Conference" is redundant. 03-razz

So what style of offense is he going with? There are a lot of good wide receivers and QB's in the state to recruit, but there are also some good beefy offensive lineman and some quick running backs too.

That's definitely one of my pet peeves. The folks at ESPN need to learn that, also. 03-banghead

Next time someone says that, I'd love for someone to say:

"Oh, the Mid American Conference Conference?"

Personally, I'm just glad that they're talking about us, but I live with someone who also gets irate about that. Pretty bizarre that they call us that, though.

At least he didn't call it the Midwestern Conference.

Exactly my sentiments.

If they're going to talk about us, I'd rather they be sure to include "MAC" than get the word "conference" properly inserted in the sentence (ie, "the MA conference had several breakout wins on September 20, 2003).

Even worse is Mid-America Conference. 03-banghead

By the way, does anyone pronounce it "EM" "AY" "SEE" anymore?

I do on occasion. Just depends on who I am talking to. If it is someone not familiar with the MAC, I say it "em" "ay" "see" so they don't think I am talking about the MAAC, if I were to pronounce it the "mack"
