Wait until we check Photodan's schedule so that he can capture the moment for posterity. Maybe we could auction off the two stools next to KK for charity? Or, we could just give them to Chicago Rocket and Rocketfootball, otherwise known as Big and Biggerer. :D

Karl Wrote:Kit Cat's post is a quote from the link he put up. The site is for student's to rate their classes/college. You've read a post from a 2nd year student at UT who's got his head up his a##. He's got a hard-on for UT police and it shows. The ONLY recent incident listed is from last spring; the rest are 6 to 19 years old. Somehow, that constitutes some sort of ongoing problem within the UT police department, I guess.
My academic experiences at UT were 98% positive (there's always a bad prof in everyone's background). Most of my profs were willing to do whatever they could to help a student succeed.

KitCat, would you STFU if we all told you how much we love OU and it's academic reputation? 03-banghead
Probably not, because then he'd just start gloating how he was right, we were wrong

Kit-Cat, going to away football games does not qualify as attending that university. You were there as a visitor.

The bureaucracy is rude, dishonest, and dehumanizing.
They are as corrupt as any UT police officer and just as prone to treat someone with disrespect. They cannot be trusted with anything. Professors are frequently late for class and the quality of classroom instruction is poor. Professors are uninspired, arrogant, and unresponsive to student needs.
The University of Toledo police have as poor a record of preventing crime as their record is of committing it. Break-ins, sexual assaults, and auto theft are frequent occurrences on campus. In Parks Tower dormitory, for example, 27 dorm room keys were stolen over spring break, resulting in $35,000 in losses from students' rooms. The University of Toledo police have no suspects, though they reported keeping a police presence within the building when the crimes occurred.
Unlike many universities, the University of Toledo has virtually no adjoining campus business district. The campus is scenic, but it's surrounded by fast-moving, busy urban streets. Slums adjoin the separate sections of campus which are located miles apart within the city. International students are forced to live in ghettos and commute long distances over bumpy roads to reach campus. Some are forced to ride in dilapidated UT buses which are unsafe.

<a href='http://www.studentsreview.com/OH/UT_c.html#comments' target='_blank'>http://www.studentsreview.com/OH/UT_c.html#comments</a>
Ok I have to disagree with all of what he said, First of all, in regards to the "break in at Parks Tower", Get your facts straight!!! They arrested and prosecuted several students for the break ins. There was one guy who was working the front desk who decided to give some of his friends access to the dorms to loot through the rooms.... nothing to do with UTPD.....

As for the teachers, they show up late to class? hmmmm if you have a problem with teachers showing up late, they have deans of all colleges that are usually more than willing to listen to complaints. (believe me they want to make sure that if you pay for the classes you get the classes... thus not very often does the University close due to snow b/c back 5 or so years ago when they did cancel classes some law student figured out down to the penny how much money she lost by classes being cancelled and sued the University for reimbursement).

The University is responsible for the "business district" that surrounds the University? I attended EMU for my first year and if you think Toledo is bad??? Try living in Ypsi without a car for a year and see how great of a university it is!!!

"slums" adjoin the separate sections of the university.... I don't think you have ever been outside of your "pretty little world" Take a trip to the West side of Chicago some time.... you will see slums... or maybe drive a little north to Detroit... even the "better" parts of the city are worse than the "slums" you speak of.....

International students are forced to live in ghettos and commute long distances over bumpy roads to reach campus..... First of all, NO ONE IS FORCED TO LIVE ANYWHERE...During the years that I went to UT, most of the foreign students lived in the apartments that are near the University. and the comment about the roads has nothing to do with UT, they don't pave the city roads so take that up with the Mayor!!!

Anyway, if you are that upset about UT no one is forcing you to go there, if you feel that bad about the education you are getting, maybe it is not worth it... and if UT is sooo horrible, are you sure you want to put that on your resume? Maybe you should look for higher learning somewhere else....

BTW, What is your major anyway?

As a freshman, I attended Flagship University in the 1980's. While driving from Toledo (they have no airport) to Athens I became hopelessly lost and was kidnapped by a group of rogue Amish polygamists. I was held against my will for three months, for breeding purposes, and missed the entire first semester.

When I finally arrived at OU I was confronted by Acid stoned Hippies who forced me to listen to folk music and fitted me for Birkenstock sandals. One day while walking to class I witnessed one of these characters barking at a police dog!

I was later recruited as a weatherman for OU but the competition was so fierce that I changed majors. My sophomore year I decided to "walk on" as an option quarterback for the Bobcats. I was immediately promoted to first string, although I had never played a single down in high school. I was kicked of the team later that year, and fell hopelessly into the OU quagmire of drugs, alcohol, and appalachian women.

My family eventually intervened and deprogrammed me over the summer. I returned to the University of Toledo, and embarked on a Computer Science degree. It was great to be surrounded by people from the real world! I eventually got an off campus apartment, and enjoyed a real-world education, golf at Ottawa Park, the basketball exploits of Harvey Knuckles. Commuter U. also gave me the ability to get a well paying off campus job to keep me grounded and pay for school.
