I've watched two games televised from Savage Hall and the lighting seems awfully dark for TV. Or is it just poor cameras?

It's the lighting Toledo subscribes to Miami's "let's dim the lights way down so maybe the opponent's won't be able to see well enough to shoot well" philosophy.

It's hardly news that Savage Hall is full of dim bulbs. I'm surprised you haven't noticed before now.

03-lol Schade. I think the lights being dim would explain how my Broncos lost last night. That and they turned the air conditioning on full blast when we were shooting free throws.

Nah, we just created that phony blizzard to keep the UT fans from making the drive. Nice of all those BG grads in the local media to help us perpetuate the lie...some of the snow channel 13 used was trucked in from Maine of all places...

Karl, that would explain alot of things now. Dim bulbs, air conditioning turned on full blast and us using over sized balls. I know our cheerleaders couldnt make our balls bigger, did yours do it? 03-lol

They actually improved the brightness of the Savage Hall lighting about three years ago by replacing all the bulbs. In photographic terms the correct exposure is 1/320th - f 2.8 at 800ASA. My guess would be the equipment/production value of the tv crew.

BG fans shouldn't be throwing any stones here. Andersen Arena's horrible lighting is the reason the Blade installed strobe units. The lighting is dismal. It was second only to the old EMU arena. Their light was actually dim *and* orange... worst shooting conditions ever.
